    Helen: The graveyard shift?
    Neil: Yes, that's today's wordReal English. The graveyard shift.
    Helen: 墓地,graveyard. What doesmean?
    Neil: It'sshift which starts very late at nightendsthe morning.
    Helen: So it'snight shift? 就夜班吧?
    Neil: That's right.
    Helen: But why graveyard? 但這和墓地什么關系呢?
    Neil: Well, we're not sure aboutorigin butmight be because when you worknight shift it's usually very quietthere aren't very many people around, likegraveyard.
    Helen: 原來你也很清楚這詞由來,可能因為以前半夜班人發(fā)現周圍都很安靜,沒什么人,而且午夜以后就幽靈出沒時候。
