一、yet的用法
yet既可以用作副詞,也可以用作連詞。
A. 用作副詞時(shí),表示:
1. 立即,即刻。例如:Don't move yet. 先別動(dòng)!
2. 從現(xiàn)在算起的某一時(shí)間段內(nèi)。
例如:We will be busy for ages yet. 我們還得辛苦很長一段時(shí)間。
3. 與would, might, may等詞一起使用,表示遲早可能發(fā)生的事。
例如:We may pass the entrance examination for postgraduate schools yet.
我們遲早會(huì)考上研究生的。
4. 與the best,the longest連用,表示迄今為止。
例如:This tower is the highest building yet in the city.
這座塔是迄今為止城內(nèi)的建筑。
B. 用作連詞時(shí),表示轉(zhuǎn)折,相當(dāng)于however。
例如:Yet the boss of a troubled company often has to belt out an upbeat number about how brilliant the firm is while simultaneously wailing a lament about how hard it will be to knock into shape.
然而逆境中的企業(yè)老板往往需要一邊高調(diào)展示公司的繁榮表象,一邊為改變慘淡現(xiàn)狀暗自神傷。
二、counter的用法
counter的含義比較豐富,而且各含義之間差異較大,故梳理如下:
1. 作前綴,表示"反對(duì),對(duì)抗,相反"

大冢司正在推進(jìn)一項(xiàng)反攻計(jì)劃,目的是向把亞洲人變得越來越胖的西式零食發(fā)出挑戰(zhàn),而Pocari Sweat也屬于該計(jì)劃的一部分。
此外,例如:
counter-clockwise逆時(shí)針方向
counteractive反對(duì)的, 反作用的, 抵抗的2
2. 作副詞,表示"反方向地,相反地 (+to)"
Sometimes,we may act counter to old conventions.
有時(shí)候,我們可以嘗試創(chuàng)新。
3.作形容詞,表示"反對(duì)的;相反的;對(duì)立的 (+to)"
Our friends' opinion was counter to that of mine.
朋友們的意見與我自己的意見相反。
4.作動(dòng)詞,表示"反駁,抵消"
I try to argue but he counters that the witness has been absent all the way.
我試著爭辯,但是他反駁說目擊證人一直都未到場。
