但是，若其前帶有描繪性定語(yǔ)修飾，表示某種形式的世界，則通常要用不定冠詞。如：

He conceived of a world free from war. 他想象出一個(gè)沒(méi)有戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)的世界。
What the President has in view is a world without nuclear weapons. 總統(tǒng)考慮的是要建立一個(gè)沒(méi)有核武器的世界。
2. the world 表示“全世界的人”時(shí)，意義上是復(fù)數(shù)，但用作主語(yǔ)時(shí)往往被視為整體，其謂語(yǔ)通常用單數(shù)。如：

She felt that the whole world was against her. 她覺(jué)得人人都跟她作對(duì)。
