Summer Internship Programme
Our Summer Internship Programme gives exceptional students the opportunity to get a head start on a career with Swire. You will have the freedom to explore your talents, coupled with the guidance to develop them productively; and you will be given the responsibility you need to grow and the support you need to thrive. Most importantly, you will be trained to recognise opportunities, take the initiative, and lay solid foundations for your career.
Our Programme provides outstanding students who are passionate about joining Swire the opportunity to understand our businesses through hands-on experience. The range of activities and projects you will work on are designed to set you up with the experience and leadership skills you need for a career in general management here.
The internship commences in early July 2015 and lasts seven weeks. Additionally, at the end of August we require all interns to attend a half day presentation. To begin the Programme, candidates will go through a comprehensive induction to gain a better understanding of Swire's core values and business structure, as well as the latest developments. Interns will then be posted to one of our operating companies, including but not limited to Swire Properties Limited or Cathay Pacific Airways Limited, to work on a specific business-related project in Hong Kong or Mainland China. We carefully consider interns' personalities and Swire's own business needs when determining the business stream/operating company to which interns are assigned.
We offer formal mentoring and performance feedback throughout the Programme, to help you prepare for corporate life. Plus, after your internship, you will be given an opportunity for early selection into The Swire Group Staff Management Trainee Programme in 2016.

FAQs — Summer Internship Programme
Application
1. What if I lose my internet connection during the application process?
You will need to login to the application system again. Go to the section you last saved and continue. Once you have successfully submitted your application, you will receive a confirmation receipt with an application I.D. number. If you cannot find the correspondence email, please check your spam mailbox.
2. What if there are technical problems during my application process? Try one or more of the following:
Clear your browser cache;
Try another browser;
Continue your application with another computer or network (University or company networks may have restrictions in place);
If the problem persists, email si.recruit@jsshk.com with the details of the problem and a screen capture.
3. I am studying overseas at the moment, can I apply?
You may apply as long as you meet our programme requirements.
We will contact candidates who are unable to attend the scheduled screening process and try to make alternative arrangements, e.g. online interview.
4. I am a postgraduate, am I eligible to apply?
We welcome applications from both undergraduates and postgraduates who are going to finish their studies the year after the completion of the internship programme.
5. How many interns will Swire recruit this year?
We do not have a quota for summer intern recruitment. Each intake varies according to the calibre of candidates and our business requirement.
6. Can I choose to join a particular division/company in Swire?
We carefully consider interns' personalities and Swire's own business needs when placing interns into a business stream/operating company.
7. I am not a business major; will that affect my chance of becoming a Swire Summer Intern?
We do not have specific degree major requirements. Our company philosophy is the pursuit of excellence and achievement. We welcome qualified candidates from any discipline who subscribe to our philosophy, while demonstrating the key competencies we look for in their educational background and extra-curricular activities.
8. I do not have the Right of Abode in Hong Kong SAR or PRC citizenship; will Swire apply for a work permit for me?
We only accept applications from applicants with a Right of Abode, and PRC or overseas nationals who are eligible for employment in Hong Kong under the Immigration Arrangements for Non-local Graduates (IANG) policy. Selected candidates with citizenship in the PRC will be assigned for a project in Mainland China.
9. I have submitted the application already but I now want to make changes, what should I do?
