JOB TITLE: Senior R&D Assistant - Product Development

Business Context and Main Purpose of the Job:
Lipton is a very important Unilever brand with over 1 billion Euro annual turnover globally. On the North Asia market Lipton offers primarily tea bags, instant tea powder, and bottled tea. Every year there is new product development in the pipeline to prepare for the product new launch and relaunch.
The beverage North Asia Regional Development Centre located in Shanghai is responsible for the development of Lipton products as well as other local Unilever beverage brands. The job position is a senior R&D assistant looking after the innovation of tea bag products. The person will be closely working with cross function teams such as marketing, quality, procurement, and factory to facilitate the launch of new product on the market.
Main Accountabilities:
- Product development for tea based beverage (mainly tea bag and instant tea powder).
- Independently plans and executes several short-term tasks in parallel.
- Plans and executives technical and experimental tests (such as tea primary process modification) with experts.
- Evaluates and summarizes data independently.
- Suggest technical solutions for product development project.
- Communicate with suppliers to collect technical information.
- Maintains equipment and laboratory facilities consistent with safety and quality principles.
Job Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor or above degree in Food Science or related area; preferable master degree
- Essential: Tea science and process, Food Safety, Product development
- A team player.
- Be proactive.
- Be passionate about tea.
