    Assistant: Good morning. sir. Can I do anything for you?

    Customer: Yes, I'd like to buy some tea. What varieties do you carry?
    顧客:是的。我想買些茶葉。你們都有哪些種類的茶葉?
    Assistant: We've got various kinds of tea. such as black tea, green tea, jasmine tea, etc. And we've got tea of different origins. such as Fujian tea, Yunnan tea, etc.
    店員:我們這里有各種各樣的茶葉,像紅茶、綠茶、茉莉花茶等等。而且我們有各個產(chǎn)地的茶葉,比如福建產(chǎn)的茶葉、云南產(chǎn)的茶葉等等。
    Customer: I like the green tea produced in Hunan. One kilogram, please. How much?

    3.詳細(xì)解說
    1.“carry”在本對話中表示“(商店)備有(貨品),出售”。
    2.“ready”在這里表示“馬上就可以賣或吃了,熟了”的意思。
    3.助動詞“do”可以置于謂語動詞之前,對該動詞加以強調(diào),可譯為“的確,確實,真地,一定,務(wù)必,千萬”等。被強調(diào)的動詞要使用原形,“do”有時態(tài)和人稱變化,表現(xiàn)為“do、does和did”三
    種形式。例如:Do come in, please.(請務(wù)必進(jìn)來。)Do be careful when you cross the street.(過馬路時,千萬要小心。)Failure doesn't mean you'll never make it,but it does mean

    4.文化洗禮
    顧客就是“上帝”?
    “顧客就是上帝”,這是國內(nèi)服務(wù)行業(yè)常說的一句話,也是國內(nèi)服務(wù)行業(yè)對待顧客的服務(wù)準(zhǔn)則。那么這句話該怎么翻譯成英文呢?
    我們知道,“上帝”的英文是“God”,那么這個“God”和顧客中的“上帝”是否一樣呢?在信奉“上帝”的西方國家里,他們也信奉顧客這個“上帝”嗎?
    在漢語里,我們經(jīng)常會聽到這樣一些話,“上帝保佑你!”“上帝??!”,可直譯成英文“God bless you!”“God!”但是英語中卻沒有“顧客就是上帝”“The customer is the God.”這一說法,只
    有“The customer is king.”(顧客是國王。)這種說法。
    對此,有兩種解釋,其一是:對于信仰“God”的西方人來說,人們是不可以用“God”來作比喻的。但是在中國,“God”在人們的頭腦中是模糊的,是看不見的,所以用“上帝”來作比喻不覺得有什
    么不妥。因為“king”威嚴(yán)、不可侵犯、受人尊敬,所以西方人就用“國王”來比喻“顧客”。另外一種解釋是:“God forgives.”(上帝會寬恕。)而永遠(yuǎn)不要指望“King forgives.”,因為在現(xiàn)
    實生活中,也不能指望“Customer forgives.”,所以要把“顧客”比喻成“國王”,而不是“上帝”。
