Internship Program Contract Party A, _____________________________________, wishes to engage the service of Party B ____________________________，as an intern teacher. Both parties, in a spirit of friendly cooperation, agree to sign this contract and pledge to fulfill conscientiously all the obligations stipulated in it. I. Duration of Contract This contract shall be valid from Sep.1, 2012 to Dec.31, 2012. II. Party A’s Obligations 1. Party A shall introduce to Party B the laws, decrees and relevant regulations enacted by the Chinese government as well as Party A’s work system and regulations of foreign experts. 2. Party A is a certified and registered to host foreign teachers. 3. In regards to Party B’s apartment Party A will ensure that: i. Party A supplies Party B the intern with a clean, free, furnished apartment during their teaching contract. 1. The apartment should include: a. A twin bed with clean bedding and sheets and a pillow. b. A Television c. internet access without computer d. A wardrobe for storing clothing e. One couch or two chairs f. A small refrigerator g. A heater/air conditioning unit h. A washer i. A private bathroom with a western style sitting toilet. j. A shower with warm water k. A purified drinking water dispenser l. A telephone that can be used to call USA (the intern will pay for international and domestic long distance calls.) m. A small desk for studying. n. A small coffee table 4. Party A is responsible for providing the utilities for this apartment. Party B will pay for utilities if the cost exceeds 300RMB over a 30 day period. 5. The apartment must be able to be locked by Party B when he/she is away. Party B should be provided his/her own personal key for unlocking the door. 6. In regards to meals, Party A shall ensure Party B will receive a monthly meal stipend of 600RMB or free meals at the school cafeteria, if party A can only apply one or two free meals at the café, then Party B will receive a stipend of 7RMB for each missed meal. 7. In regards to teaching, Party A will ensure the following guidelines: i. Party B should teach no more than 18 classes each week, each class lasting no more than 45 minutes. ii. Party B will have 2 consecutive days off which include Sunday. Example: Party B must have Saturday and Sunday off or Sunday and Monday off. 1. Party B must be allowed to travel on these days off. iii. Party B is not required to sit in an office when he/she is not teaching a class. It is Party B ‘s choice if they will engage in office time with other Chinese teachers. 8. In regards to other pertinent details of the program, the Party A will cooperate with Party B to ensure the following: i. Party A should assist Party B in understanding how to travel around the local city and how to catch a bus/train to other cities around China. ii. Party A understands that when Party B is not working, he/she is free to leave the school whenever he/she wishes to travel around the country as long as he/she returns for teaching. iii. If requested by Party B, Party A will assist the teaching in arranging Chinese lessons in exchange for English lessons with a Chinese teacher at the school. iv. If housing is unavailable at the school at the beginning of the semester, the Party A will be responsible for housing Party B during this interim period. v. Party A will be entrusted to cultivate a relationship with the relevant personnel to provide a meaningful cultural experience for Party B. The cultural experience may primarily include but it not limited to: Chinese classes and local sightseeing opportunities, etc. III. Party B’s Obligations 1. Party B shall observe the laws, decrees and relevant regulations enacted by the Chinese government and shall not interfere in Chinese internal affairs. Party B shall also respect China’s religious policy and Chinese people’s moral standards and customs. Party B shall not conduct religious activities incompatible with the status of an expert. 2. Party B shall observe Party A’s work system and regulations concerning administration of foreign teachers and shall accept Party A’s arrangement, direction, supervision and evaluation in regard to his/her work. Without Party A’s consent, Party B shall not render service elsewhere or hold concurrently any post unrelated to the work agreed on with Party A. 3. Party B shall complete the teaching tasks agreed on the schedule and guarantee the quality in the discipline of English language teaching. 4. Party B is responsible for the planning, teaching and grading of the assigned classes in accordance with Party A’s requirements as well as checking students’ attendance and fulfilling administrative duties. 5. Party B’s course load will not exceed 18 classes (45 minutes per class) per week. Party B can enjoy the public holidays of China. IX. This Contract takes effect on the date signed by both parties and will automatically expire with the said date.
