In order to mark the annual Help for Heroes event held on March 4, a creative pair spent 6 weeks creating a lifesize model of a Spitfire made from 6,500 egg cartons, the Daily Mail of London reported. In addition to thousands of egg cartons, the 11-meter-long Supermarine Spitfire was constructed using 235 meters of wooden batten, 5 liters of glue, 5,000 nails, 10 liters of paint, 10,000 staples, 100 sqm of canvas and 25 meters of steel. The work will go on display at the Imperial War Museum Duxford in Cambridgeshire.
