謝謝各位光臨。三月，是春暖花開的日子，也是屬于我們婦女的日子。為慶?！叭恕眹?guó)際婦女節(jié)，今天非常高興地邀請(qǐng)五湖四海的姐妹們，歡聚一堂，共慶我們自己的節(jié)日。
Thank you all for coming. March is a month of spring when flowers begin to bloom. It is also a month that belongs to us ladies. Today it gives me great pleasure to have with us our sisters from all parts of the world to celebrate the International Women's Day.
女性，代表著言之不盡的美麗；女性，也是一個(gè)日益獨(dú)立、進(jìn)步的群體。近百年來(lái)，世界各國(guó)婦女為爭(zhēng)取自身的權(quán)利做出了不懈的努力和斗爭(zhēng)。這些努力和斗爭(zhēng)肯定了婦女對(duì)家庭、社會(huì)和國(guó)家的貢獻(xiàn)。1975年，聯(lián)合國(guó)開始慶祝“三八”國(guó)際婦女節(jié)。1977年，聯(lián)合國(guó)通過(guò)決議，每個(gè)國(guó)家可根據(jù)自己的歷史和傳統(tǒng)，選定一年中的某一天為聯(lián)合國(guó)婦女權(quán)利日。多年來(lái)，聯(lián)合國(guó)為促進(jìn)全球婦女事業(yè)的發(fā)展發(fā)揮了積極的作用。
Women stand for beauty. And women stand for independence and progress. Over the last one hundred years, we have made relentless efforts, and even struggles, for our rights around the world. These efforts and struggles have won us the recognition of our contribution to our families, our societies and our nations. March 8th was first celebrated as the International Women's Day in 1975. In 1977, a resolution was adopted by the General Assembly of the United Nations, proclaiming a United Nations Day for Women's Rights and International Peace to be observed on any day of the year by member states in accordance with their historical and national traditions. The United Nations has over the years played an active role in advancing women's cause around the globe.
中國(guó)婦女約占我國(guó)13億人口的一半。中國(guó)政府把促進(jìn)性別平等和婦女全面發(fā)展作為社會(huì)發(fā)展的一項(xiàng)基本國(guó)策。隨著中國(guó)經(jīng)濟(jì)持續(xù)增長(zhǎng)和社會(huì)全面進(jìn)步，中國(guó)婦女在政治、經(jīng)濟(jì)、社會(huì)和家庭中發(fā)揮著越來(lái)越重要的作用。同時(shí)，中國(guó)與國(guó)際社會(huì)一道，為全球婦女?dāng)[脫貧困、提高婦女地位、全面促進(jìn)社會(huì)發(fā)展與進(jìn)步而并肩戰(zhàn)斗、共同努力。
Women account for one half of China's population, and the promotion of gender equality and all-around development of women has always been a basic policy of the Chinese government. The fast economic development and social progress in recent years have enabled the Chinese women to play an increasingly important part in the political and economic life of our society, as well as the private life of our families. At the same time, China has worked together with the international community for the reduction of poverty among women, for the empowerment of women, and for the promotion of social development in all fields.
婦女是社會(huì)的半邊天，是人類物質(zhì)財(cái)富和精神文明的創(chuàng)造者，也是社會(huì)發(fā)展和進(jìn)步的推動(dòng)者。在日內(nèi)瓦這個(gè)國(guó)際大舞臺(tái)上，臺(tái)前幕后到處都顯現(xiàn)著婦女活躍的身影。從家庭主婦到社會(huì)活動(dòng)家，從外交官到國(guó)際政治家，每個(gè)人都在精心扮演著自己的角色，用女性特有的善良、智慧和耐力，書寫著美麗的人生，創(chuàng)造著光明的未來(lái)。
As a Chinese saying goes, women hold up half of the sky. We are creators of wealth and civilization, and we are movers behind social and cultural development. Here in Geneva, an important international arena, women are active players both on the stage and behind the scenes. Be it housewives or social activists, diplomats or politicians, each one of us is playing our own role with devotion, perseverance and intelligence. We are here to realize our full potential and weave a beautiful life and a bright future for ourselves and for others.

Life becomes warmer and more gentle because of women. And the world becomes brighter and more colourful because of women. On this special occasion, the ladies of the Chinese Permanent Mission would like to present to our distinguished guests some performances directed and performed all by ourselves, which we hope could give you a taste of the Chinese culture, as well as the beauty and self-confidence of the Chinese women. They are also an expression of our holiday greetings to all of you. I hope you can forget about your work and chores for a while, relax yourselves, enjoy the Chinese food and the Chinese fashion, and have a good time in the Chinese Mission.
