Most Chinese people are quite familiar with the story of "The three wolves cries". We taught to be honest when we were very young.
對于大多數(shù)中國人來說，對于“狼來了”的故事都十分熟悉。我們從小便被告知要為人誠實。
However, as we grow up, we find that it is difficult to be honest all the time. Sometimes, we are forced to tell lies, and other times, we find people who are dishonest can enjoy great pleasures, while honest people have to suffer failures. And still there are times when we have to tell lies in order not to hurt others. Consequently, people wonder whether honesty is going out of style.
然而，在我們成長的過程中，我們發(fā)現(xiàn)要想做到永遠誠實實在是非常困難。有時，我們被迫去撒謊，還有些時候，我們發(fā)現(xiàn)不誠實的人得到了利益而誠實的人得到的卻是失敗。而且在一些時候為了不傷害他人我們不得不撒謊。因此，人們在困惑誠實是否已經過時了呢？
As far as I'm concerned, honesty should always be an important feature valued by Chinese people. We should try our best to avoid telling lies (even white lies). Only in this way, is a fair society awaiting us.
在我看來，誠實應該成為中國人所推崇的一種品性。我們應該盡量避免撒謊（即使是善意的謊言）。只有這樣，我們才能迎來一個公正的社會。

1. "…we find people who are dishonest can enjoy great pleasures, while honest people have to suffer failures." 這句中用到了 enjoy 和 suffer 這對詞，這里跟大家說一下，這兩個詞可是非常好用的。
當你要表示“擁有，得到”的意思時就可以用它們了，好的用enjoy，不好的用suffer。比如：enjoy a good reputation（享有良好的聲譽），enjoy advantages （具備優(yōu)勢），enjoy an increase in income（工資得到增長）；suffer stomach trouble（得胃?。?，suffer punishment（受懲罰），suffer serious pollutions（受到嚴重污染）等等。
2. out of style 過時，相反：in style 時髦
來看句例句：Dresses may be in style one year and out of style the next. 服裝可能今年還算時髦，而明年就已經過時了。
3. white lie 動機善良的謊話，出于好意而說的謊言（雖然范文中說即使是善意的謊言也要盡量避免，但是這個還是看每個人自己吧，為了和諧共處撒點慌也是沒有辦法的嘛~）
另外我們再來學個單詞叫fib，先看一句例句：Johnny tells everybody he got an A for every subject last term. I'm afraid he's telling a fib - I happen to know he got at least one B, but he's too embarrassed to admit it.（Johnny告訴大家自己上學期門門功課都得了A，恐怕他撒了個小謊。我碰巧知道他至少有一個B，只是他不好意思承認。）Johnny撒謊也許只是因為別人對他期望過高，況且他的謊言也不會損害誰，所以可以看出 fib 是一種無關緊要、無傷大雅的小謊。
