A long time ago and far away there lived a King and a Queen .They were very happy, for their first child, a girl, had been born.

The King and Queen, the courtiers and the guests fell asleep in the Great Hall. The guards fell asleep at their posts. The search parties looking for the Princess fell asleep while they searched- in the gardens, in the corridors, in the spare rooms, and some in the oldest part of the palace. 國(guó)王和王后，大臣和來賓們都在大堂里睡著了。衛(wèi)士們?cè)趰徫簧纤?。搜尋公主的?duì)伍搜尋公主的時(shí)候睡著了，有的在花園，有的在走廊，有的在空房間里，有的在宮殿最古老的地方。
Even the flies fell asleep on the stable walls. The birds and the butterflies fell asleep in the palace the palace vegetable gardens. The gardeners and their helpers, who were busy chasing off the rabbit, fell asleep in mid-chase. 甚至是蒼蠅也在墻上睡著了。鳥兒和蝴蝶在宮殿中的蔬菜園中睡著了。園丁和幫手們，在忙碌的抓兔子，抓到半路就睡著了。
In the hearths the fires died down and the meat stopped cooking. The kitchen maid stopped plucking the chicken. 火焰在爐灶里也熄滅了，肉也不煮了。廚娘也不收拾雞了。
The entire palace fell asleep, along with the Princess. 整個(gè)宮殿都和公主一起睡著了。
A hedge of briar roses sprang up around the palace, protecting it from the outside world. 一道野薔薇的籬笆爬滿了宮殿，使得宮殿與世隔絕了。
Years passed, and from time to time a King's son would come to the famous briar hedge to try and find the mysterious sleeping Princess that the legend spoke of. But none got through. The hedge was too strong and the Princes were cut to bits. 許多年過去了，時(shí)不時(shí)會(huì)有一個(gè)國(guó)王的兒子想要進(jìn)入這個(gè)的薔薇籬中試圖尋找傳說中神奇的進(jìn)入夢(mèng)鄉(xiāng)的公主，但是沒有一個(gè)人能成功進(jìn)去的，籬笆太茂盛了王子們進(jìn)不去。
A hundred years passed and the tale of the Sleeping Beauty, as the Princess was known, become a great legend. Very few people believed she existed. 睡美人的故事過了一百年，成為了一個(gè)傳奇。幾乎沒有人相信她的存在。 One day a King's son came to the nearby village. 一天，一個(gè)國(guó)王的兒子來到了附近的村莊。
"Legend says," an old man was speaking in the village square. "Legend says that the Princess lies asleep behind that great briar hedge just outside the village In my grandfather's day, you could see the topmost turret of her tower, so they say." “傳說啊，”一個(gè)老人在村里的小廣場(chǎng)里說，“傳說從我祖父那會(huì)起在那篇茂盛的薔薇籬笆里就有一個(gè)漂亮的公主在睡覺，你們應(yīng)該去她的塔的處去看看，他們是這么說的?！?BR> The Prince stopped to listen. "Just beyond the village, young sir, "said the old man. "If you're going to try, you'll need more luck than the other young men who have had a go." 這位老人說，“就在村子外頭，年輕人。如果你要去試試，你需要比其他曾經(jīng)去過的人更走運(yùn)?！?BR> "I shall try," said the Prince. "We have heard of Sleeping Beauty in my kingdom." “我要試試，”王子說，“我們?cè)谖业膰?guó)家就聽說過睡美人。”
The Prince went to the hedge and held up his sword. He went to strike at the hedge, but where his sword met the thorns, great roses bloomed instead. A path opened for him, for the one hundred years were up. The curse was lifting. 王子走到籬笆那里舉起他的寶劍。他開始披荊斬棘，但是他寶劍所到之處都開出了薔薇。一條路出現(xiàn)了，經(jīng)過了一百年，詛咒正在消散。
The hedge seemed to disappear before him. 荊棘看上去在他面前消失了。
He went through into the palace grounds, walking past the sleeping rabbits, birds and butterflies, and the gardeners at their work. The kitchens were full of cooks and maids who hadn't moved for a hundred years -- They were all fast asleep. Even the King and Queen who were seated at the table in the Great Hall were sleeping soundly! 他走進(jìn)宮殿里，路過了睡著的兔子、鳥兒和蝴蝶，還有在工作中睡著的園丁。廚房里都是一百年不曾動(dòng)過一下的廚子和廚娘——他們都睡著了。即使國(guó)王和王后也坐在大堂的桌子旁里香甜的睡著。
The Prince walked on through the palace, making his way to the tallest tower where he climbed the stairs and entered the tower room. 王子穿過宮殿，走向的塔，他爬上了臺(tái)階走進(jìn)了塔頂?shù)姆块g。
There on the bed he saw Briar Rose fast asleep. 他看見布瑞爾·羅絲在床上睡著。
"She is so lovely," he said, He had fallen completely in love with her. "How can I wake her?" “她真可愛，”他說，他已經(jīng)完完全全的愛上了她?！拔以趺床拍軉拘阉兀俊?BR> He leant over and gently kissed her. 他俯下身溫柔的吻了她。
Briar Rose's eyelids flickered and she woke up. The first person she saw was the Prince and she fell in love with him. 布瑞爾·羅絲的眼皮動(dòng)了動(dòng)，她醒了。她看見的第一個(gè)人就是王子，她也愛上了他。
Together they walked down to the Great Hall. The King and Queen were just waking up, when the Prince and Briar Rose entered. 他們一起走下大堂，當(dāng)他們走進(jìn)大堂的時(shí)候，國(guó)王和王后也剛剛醒來。
The cooks in the kitchen woke up to carry on preparing the food and the chambermaids carried on with their work. 廚房里的廚子也醒過來繼續(xù)準(zhǔn)備食物，女仆們也繼續(xù)做她們的事情。
The party was still to be held, but it was an engagement party instead of a birthday party. The Prince and Briar Rose were to be married. 晚會(huì)仍然會(huì)舉行，但是已經(jīng)從生日晚會(huì)變成了訂婚晚會(huì)。王子和布瑞爾就要結(jié)婚了。
The hedge disappeared and the village saw the palace again and realised the legend had been true. 荊棘消失了，村莊的人們又看到了宮殿，他們終于發(fā)現(xiàn)傳說其實(shí)是真的。
The bad fairy was never heard of again. 再也沒有壞仙女的消息了。
