They say that the unprecedented power of production doesn’t mean that we are entitled to a life of extravagance, because our natural resources are limited [2]and some of them even are [4]on the decline. [5]Moreover, they hold that waste may lead to degradation of social atmosphere and environmental pollution as well.
[6]As to me, I prefer the latter opinion. I believe [7] “Waste not, want not.” The truth of this saying is [8]not to give up comfort but to enhance efficiency. [5]In fact, economic growth depends enormously on saving. [5]Besides, there are still millions of Chinese [9]living under poverty line. We can never afford reckless waste.[5]Therefore, [10]it is no doubt that thrift is still a good virtue that we should not give up.
