Diarmuid: I just went to the bank and I couldn't take any money out. I'm really skint. S.K.I.N.T. 我剛剛跑到銀行，但是我去不了錢。我身無分文了。
Feifei: 如果你銀行賬戶的余額是零的話，那么難道不應該說 you're poor 你很窮嗎？
Diarmuid: Well, skint is another word for poor. If someone is skint, they have very little money. 嗯，這個單詞跟poor差不多，他們幾乎沒有錢。
Feifei: 那能不能用 skint 這個詞來代替 poor 呢？
Diarmuid: Skint and poor are both adjectives but skint is usually used when someone has run out of money temporarily. 這兩個詞都是形容詞，但是skint通常是在人們暫時沒錢的時候用。
Feifei: Skint 常指由于近手頭比較緊，錢花完了，但是很快就又會有錢了，所以 skint 指得這個窮法是短時期的，暫時的。
Diarmuid: Yes, they will have some money again quite soon. 是的，他們很快就會又有錢了。
Feifei: 這么說當我們把這個月的工資花完后在急切盼望下個月的工資時可以說我們 skint?
Diarmuid: Absolutely, you can use skint when you have spent all of your money and you're waiting to be paid again. 當然，你可以在花光所有的錢，盼望下個月工資的時候用這個詞。
Feifei: 那能再舉個例子嗎？
Diarmuid: Here are some examples of how to use the word skint. 這里有些使用這個單詞的例子。
Examples
A: Do you want to come to the cinema on Friday night? 星期五晚上想來電*嗎？
B: I can't, I'm really skint this month. 不行，這個月我身無分文了。
A: My girlfriend likes to shop a lot. 我女友很喜歡購物。
B: Oh really, does she have expensive tastes? 哦，真的嗎，她喜歡貴的東西嗎？
A: Yes. I'm usually skint after we go out shopping together. 是的，經常是我們一起購物后我就身無分文了。
Feifei: Ok, I think I understand. Skint 是一個俚語單詞，表示一個人短時期，暫時沒有錢。
Diarmuid: Yes, that's correct. 是的，那是對的。
