對肯定性的話如作肯定性補充時，可用主語+助動詞+too/also或so+助動詞+主語的結構。如果第一句中有助動詞時，補充中要再一次重復前面的助動詞。
Bill would enjoy a game and Tom would too/so would Tom．
比爾可能會喜歡游戲/運動，湯姆也會。
如果前一句中沒有助動詞時，應在補充中用do/does/did。也就是說，不應說：
Bill likes golf and Tom likes golf（too）．
比爾喜歡高爾夫球而湯姆也喜歡高爾夫球。
而應說：考試大論壇
Bill likes golf and Tom does too/so does Tom．
補充當然也可以由說話的對方來說：

She doesn’t eat meat but her husband does．
她不吃肉，但她丈夫吃。 The horse wasn’t hurt but the rider was．

He likes pop music but I don’t．
他喜歡流行音樂，而我不喜歡。
You can go but I can’t．

Peter passed the test but Bill didn’t．
