Product Development Engineer (Mechanical)
Location: Caohejing Hi-Tech Park, Shanghai
Overview
TE has built R&D footprints in Shanghai, Dongguan, Shenzhen, Beijing and Suzhou. Right now, more than 1000 China based engineers work closely with their global engineering counterparts on new product development, manufacturing process development and automation implementation across plants of TE in China. TE is dedicated to develop local engineering capabilities and develop world class engineers in China. TE offers all types to development opportunities to new graduates. This includes hands-on training, cross function rotation opportunities with manufacturing, structured skill building training programs designed for new engineers and mentor programs.
Responsibilities
¨ Conducts and participates in the research, design, development, testing and support of connectivity products. Product development tasks typically include functional specification development; circuit schematic design and entry; simulation analysis; component selection and qualification; generation and execution of product test plans; and generation of associated product design documentation and reports.
¨ Additional responsibilities include investigating and resolving issues due to hardware component obsolescence and resolving product corrective action requests to improve product quality and manufacturability.
¨ Assists in the development and execution of test set-ups and virtual simulation analytical programs to troubleshoot and resolve product issues reported by customers and/or to validate products to all applicable product specifications. Understand the product development process, testing procedures, equipment and evaluation techniques.
¨ Conducts routine analysis and investigatory work according to an established plan. Record results and prepares technical reports for internal and external technical community review.
Requirements
¨ University graduate in 2012
¨ Bachelor or Master degree, major in mechanical or electronics
¨ Good oral & written language
¨ Innovative, good communication skills, willing to accept challenges
