Internship position – Partnerships Development Manager
The program – Shanghai Young Bakers (SYB)
Shanghai Young Bakers (SYB) provides a fully-sponsored training in traditional French & Asian bakery to underprivileged Chinese youth aged 17 to 21, enabling them to lead independent lives after graduation.
Sponsored by Carrefour International Foundation, French yeast producer Lesaffre and French sweetener SweetPearl, SYB answers charities needs as well as the skills shortage in the bakery job market, through a CSR-oriented network of partnerships with associations, corporations and schools.
Launched in February 2009, SYBs one-year training combines intensive classes in both French and Chinese bakery, with practical internships at 4&5-star hotels. After completing the program, the 20-30 students can then obtain employment opportunities in bakeries or hotels in Shanghai and all across China.
This social innovation programme is managed by a dynamic international team, and operates under the governance of Chi Heng Foundation with the support of the Shanghai Charity Foundation.
