但在很多情況下，特別是在口語中，我們常常用代詞it來代替它作主語，而把它移到句子后部去，這樣使句子顯得比較平穩(wěn)：
It is not an easy thing to master a language.
學好一種語言是不容易的。
It only took (us) a year to complete the project.
完成這項工程只花了（我們）一年時間。
如果要說明不定式表示的動作是誰做的，可以在不定式前加一個for引起的短語：
It is not hard for one to do a bit of good.
一個人做點好事并不難。
It will be a mistake for us not to help them.
我們不幫助他們是錯誤的。

I want to get something to read during the vacation.
我想找點書假期看。

He wants you to call him back at 11.
他要你十一點給他回電話。
Would you like us to go with you?
你愿意我們和你一道去嗎？
注意：在下列動詞后常用不帶to的動詞不定式作賓語補足語：see, watch, hear, feel, let, have, make, notice, observe, small等。
Don’t forget to have him come.
別忘了讓他來。
Suddenly we felt the atmosphere grow tense.
突然我們感到氣氛緊張了起來。
（五）動詞不定式用來作狀語
They ran over to welcome the delegates.
他們跑過去歡迎代表們。
To protect his comrades, he heroically laid down his lif.
為了保護同志們，他英勇地獻出了自己的生命。
She decided to work harder in order (so as) to catch up with the others.
她決定加緊學習好趕上別人。
