Position Title: Lead/Senior Technologist – Process Chemicals
This position is to work as a lead/senior technologist in GEs Water & Process Technologies R&D laboratories at GEs China Technology Center. Position duties include working with cross functional teams on new application/product/technology development of process chemicals.
Essential functions (Responsibilities):
*Define, design and develop innovative chemistry and application for GEWPT process chemicals
*Design and setup lab performance testing capability based on customer needs together with global team, build testing protocol and transfer to team members.
* Drive execution on NTI/NPI/DMP (new technology introduction/new product introduction/direct material productivity)
*Generate new ideas according to local market needs and initiate NPI/NTI/DMP
*Provide technical support to commercial team, supply chain and related technology team based on external and internal customer needs
Qualifications:
* Master or Ph.D. in fine chemistry/organic chemistry/polymer chemistry/applied
chemistry
* 2+ years experience in coal chemical industry and/or petrochemical industry is required.
* Ability to design, constructs, modify, and operate lab bench-scale equipments for
industry process additives
* 5+ years R&D experiences for chemical additives are preferred including graduate period.
* Self-starter, independent thinker, proactive problem solver
* Strong interpersonal skills and excellent English communication skills (job require regular communication with US, India and other countries)
* Excellent problem solving skills - ability to consider overall problem, identify opportunities and implement major changes
* Motivated by quality, cost and speed
* Demonstrated ability to set and achieve aggressive goals and targets
* Embrace change and technology evolution as an opportunity
* Strong environmental, health and safety ethics
