BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• Masters degree in political science, public policy or related field and 5 years related experience or equivalent combination.
• Experience with climate change policy and other related conservation issues in the relevant geography.
• Experience in working with different government agencies on climate change and related environment issues and understand the org chart and management flow chart.
• Experience in compiling proposals and negotiating with different funding sources such as governments, bilateral government agencies and foundations.
• Experience presenting to and/or communicating with government or legislative staff and/or program leadership.
• Experience working with MS Office, Word, Excel and navigating the Internet. Database management experience (if required).
• Ability to work with partners/government agencies without violating any restrictions related to conflicts of interest, lobbying former employers, or influencing decision makers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The climate change policy advisor supports the director of climate change policies to achieve The Nature Conservancys climate change program goals by serving as liaison and advisor between The Nature Conservancy and central, provincial, and local government agencies and private groups. S/he tracks government policies and decisions that directly affect The Nature Conservancys conservation goals, and serves as research coordinator on other issues of environment policies and legislation. S/he may provide services that assist in influencing the outcome of policy initiatives at central, provincial, and local levels. S/he also coordinates TNC Chinas participation in TNCs Key Countries Strategy, and supports efforts for enhancing TNCs internal and external communication efforts of China actions and challenges on climate change.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
• Masters degree in political science, public policy or related field and at least 5 years related experience or equivalent combination.
• Experience researching information from divergent sources and compiling it into a cohesive reporting structure.
• Familiarity with the progress of climate change negotiations and social, economic and political conditions and issues in China.
• Demonstrated experience in MS Office, Word and Excel. May require database management skills with ability to produce reports. Ability to use advanced computer functions including navigating the Internet. Ability to manipulate, analyze and interpret data.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The Conservation Manager will base in field office of Sichuan province to develop, manage and advance conservation program, plans and methods for larger-scale ecoregions. The Conservation Manager provides technical leadership and support to the region or division. Requires sufficient knowledge and work experience of a CPIV in addition to one or more of the following functions:
• Plans and directs preserve management programs and stewardship
• Addresses critical threats to natural systems and individual species
• Fosters cross-site learning among an international conservation community
• Supplies ecoregional planning teams with information for site portfolios
• Develops and implements conservation strategies
• Knowledge of politics and society with respect to environmental affairs
• Employs a full range of protection tools to acquire varying degrees of legal interest in land and implements a variety of strategies to secure public and private support for TNC conservation priorities.

• Maintains preserve areas frequented by the visiting public
As part of the incumbents ongoing professional development, he/she will be responsible for keeping abreast of new burn techniques and equipment to enhance skills. In addition, they shall work to build and maintain relationships in the government agencies and in the local community where the Conservancy works. This may include participation in conservation activities in partnership with other non profits, local conservation departments, and local, state and federal agencies, either as a TNC employee, or as a volunteer or short term employee of the partner entity (such as an Administratively Determined, short term federal employee).
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
• BA/BS, law or business degree and at least 5 years experience in natural resource management or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to make sound decisions on legal, financial, conservation and reporting issues

The Yangtze River Project Senior Policy Specialist further TNCs Sustainable Freshwater Strategy including "Yangtze Hydropower Sustainability Fund" through interaction with government, enterprise and other agencies focusing on policy initiatives which provide conservation opportunities and/or impact our conservation programs. S/he identifies policy opportunities for TNC "Yangtze Hydropower Sustainability Fund Proposal", negotiate it with related government agencies and enterprise and reach agreement with officials and stakeholders to realize it. S/he also serves as contact with the external professional community in the policy arena to keep abreast of new developments and opportunities that may be useful to the Conservancy and to report on and share the Conservancys experiences with others. Helps to raise funds for overall functional initiatives and/or specific projects, by providing input for proposal writing, negotiating with bilateral and multilateral agencies and donor cultivation as needed.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The Program Director I directs some or all aspects of protection, science, stewardship and community relations for a region within an Operating Unit. S/he serves as the principle contact to government agencies, other conservation organizations, foundations and the academic community. Geographic size and scope is larger than a preserve and smaller than an OU, or overseeing one or more components of the Conservation function for an entire OU. This may include one or more of the following functions:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The climate change policy advisor supports the director of climate change policies to achieve The Nature Conservancys climate change program goals by serving as liaison and advisor between The Nature Conservancy and central, provincial, and local government agencies and private groups. S/he tracks government policies and decisions that directly affect The Nature Conservancys conservation goals, and serves as research coordinator on other issues of environment policies and legislation. S/he may provide services that assist in influencing the outcome of policy initiatives at central, provincial, and local levels. S/he also coordinates TNC Chinas participation in TNCs Key Countries Strategy, and supports efforts for enhancing TNCs internal and external communication efforts of China actions and challenges on climate change.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
• Masters degree in political science, public policy or related field and at least 5 years related experience or equivalent combination.
• Experience researching information from divergent sources and compiling it into a cohesive reporting structure.
• Familiarity with the progress of climate change negotiations and social, economic and political conditions and issues in China.
• Demonstrated experience in MS Office, Word and Excel. May require database management skills with ability to produce reports. Ability to use advanced computer functions including navigating the Internet. Ability to manipulate, analyze and interpret data.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The Conservation Manager will base in field office of Sichuan province to develop, manage and advance conservation program, plans and methods for larger-scale ecoregions. The Conservation Manager provides technical leadership and support to the region or division. Requires sufficient knowledge and work experience of a CPIV in addition to one or more of the following functions:
• Plans and directs preserve management programs and stewardship
• Addresses critical threats to natural systems and individual species

As part of the incumbents ongoing professional development, he/she will be responsible for keeping abreast of new burn techniques and equipment to enhance skills. This may include participation in conservation activities in partnership with other non profits, local conservation departments, and local, state and federal agencies, either as a TNC employee, or as a volunteer or short term employee of the partner entity (such as an Administratively Determined, short term federal employee).

The Yangtze River Project Senior Policy Specialist further TNCs Sustainable Freshwater Strategy including "Yangtze Hydropower Sustainability Fund" through interaction with government, enterprise and other agencies focusing on policy initiatives which provide conservation opportunities and/or impact our conservation programs. S/he identifies policy opportunities for TNC "Yangtze Hydropower Sustainability Fund Proposal", negotiate it with related government agencies and enterprise and reach agreement with officials and stakeholders to realize it.
