adidas China was founded in 1997 in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province. Its
headquarters
are located in Shanghai and it has offices in Beijing Guangzhou and Chengdu

Over the past 14 years, the increasing affluence of Chinese consumers,
combine
d with the fashion-consciousness of Chinese youth and the impact of the
Beijin
g Olympics, has seen adidas make giant strides in China. The China market
has
grown to such an extent that it is now adidas' second largest market
worldwide
.
The importance of the China market to adidas was underlined in July 2008
when
adidas opened its largest store in the world in the landmark Sanlitun
Village
development in Beijing. The store has four floors and a total space of 3,

qm.
adidas currently has approximately 5,400 stores in China and generally
increas
e its store numbers at a rate of around 10% every year. adidas now has a
