    第16屆亞運(yùn)會(huì)將于2010年11月12日至27日在中國廣州進(jìn)行,廣州是中國第二個(gè)取得亞運(yùn)會(huì)主辦權(quán)的城市。北京曾于1990年舉辦第11屆亞運(yùn)會(huì)。廣州亞運(yùn)會(huì)將設(shè)41項(xiàng)比賽項(xiàng)目,是亞運(yùn)會(huì)歷比賽項(xiàng)目最多的一屆。廣州還將在亞運(yùn)會(huì)后舉辦第十屆殘疾人亞運(yùn)會(huì)。

    2004年3月共有四座城市申辦亞運(yùn)會(huì):廣州、吉隆坡、漢城(首爾)、安曼;但之后其他三個(gè)申辦城市相繼決定退出競逐。2004年7月1日,亞奧理事會(huì)宣布廣州獲得第十六屆亞運(yùn)會(huì)主辦權(quán)。
