早在1620年，一些在英國受到宗教迫害的清教徒乘船來到美洲。但是當年的冬天就讓他們遇到了跨越不了的困難處境。饑餓和寒冷使他們一半人都失去了生命。此時，心地善良的印第安人給他們送來生活必需品，還教會了他們種植、狩獵等等生存技巧。終于，這些移民堅強地存活下來。為了感謝印地安人的幫助，在豐收的那一年，移民邀請印第安人一起慶祝。這就是感恩節(jié)。
