Part 1
    0. The four I.D. checking questions. (Not really part of Part 1 although most books show it as such, but it is linked loosely to part 1)
    1. Your Work or Your Studies
    2. Your Home (Your Accommodation)
    3. Your Hometown
    One of the three topics above is a compulsory topic and you will be asked about 4 questions on this topic. You will then be asked questions on two of the topics from below. (Again, about 4 questions per topic). (There's a 50% chance of getting Topic 1 and a 25% change of getting Topic 2 or Topic 3.)
    *Note: The topic 2 (Your Home) above has been reported to be now longer in use, it is quite likely however that it will return at a later date

    Describe a walk with a friend that you remember.
     You should say:
    When it was
    Who you walked with
    Where you walked
    What you talked about
    What happened during the walk?
    And explain why you remember it.
    A Family
    Describe a family (not your own) you enjoyed spending time with.
    You should say:
    Where this family lived (or, lives)
     Who the members of the family were (or, are)
     How did you know them
    What each person in this family is interested in
    And explain why you like this family.

     And explain what effect this family has had on you.
    Recent Changes to your Hometown
     Describe an area of your hometown that has recently changed.
     You should say:
    What part of your hometown has changed?
    What it used to be like
    What changes have been (or, were) made
    And explain how you feel about these changes.
    A Piece of Equipment
    Describe a useful piece of equipment (not a computer) that you use at home.
     You should say
     How you got it
     What you use it for
     How often you use it
     And explain why you think this thing is useful.
    A Type of Music that is Popular in your Country
    Describe a type of music that is popular in your country.
     You should say:
    What type of music it is
    Where people listen to (or, can hear) it
    On what occasions people hear this music
    What types of people usually like this type of music?
    And explain why you it is popular.
    A Friend You Admire
    Describe a friend who did something you admire.
     You should say:
    What he or she did?
    Why he or she did this
    What difficulties he or she had to overcome (= what difficulties he or she overcame)
    And explain why you admire him/her.
    A Childhood Toy
    Describe a toy that was special to you when you were a child.
     You should say:
    When you got it
    What it looked like
    Where you played with it
    Who gave it to you?
    And explain how you used it (how you played with it).
    A TV or Radio Presenter
    Describe a TV or radio presenter who you like.
     You should say:
    What kind of program he or she presents
    What he or she does in this program?

    And explain what you like this person.
    A Film
    Describe a film you have recently seen.
     You should say:
    Where you saw it
    What the film was about

     Who benefits from this law (or, who is affected by this law)

    Describe something naughty you did when you were a child.
     You should say:

    Why you did it

    And explain how your parents felt about what you did.

    A Quiz Show
    Describe a quiz show on TV that you would like to take part in.
     You should say:
    What kind of quiz show it would be
    What kinds of questions would be asked?
    What preparation you would need to do for this show
    And explain why you would like to be a competitor in this program.
    An Item of Clothing that was Bought for You
    Describe an item of clothing that was bought for you.
     You should say:
    What it is
    What it looks like
    Why it was bought for you
    And explain how you feel (or felt) about it.
    An Advertisement
    Describe an advertisement that you think is successful.
     You should say:
    What is advertised?
    What the advertisement contains (the contents of this advertisement)
    What is the function (purpose) of this advertisement?
    What kinds of people would be (or, are) interested in (or attracted to) this advertisement
    And explain why you this advertisement works well.
    A Small Thing to Protect the Environment
    Describe a small thing that you do to help the environment.
     You should say:
    What it is you do
    Why you do it (why you want to help the environment)
    How you know about this
    And explain how you think this will help the environment.
    An Interesting Subject
    Version A
    Describe a subject that you are studying (in school) that you think is interesting
     You should say:
     What the subject is
     What your teacher is like
     How long you have been studying this subject
     And explain why you think it is interesting.
