    IP Intelligence Analyst in Philips Shanghai
    Organization Description:
    IP&S CN Shanghai office deals with all kind of IP matters including Creation,
    Counselling (Non-Disclosure Agreements, Joint Development, Merger and Acquisit
    ion, IP landscaping, Supply and Purchase, etc.), Value Capturing (Licensing, A
    nti-counterfeiting, etc.). It comprises two main teams, namely IPC team workin
    g in close collaboration with internal partners (mainly in Philips China) to g
    enerate maximum value with IP for Philips, and Anti-counterfeiting team which
    fights against counterfeiting (trademark, designs, domain names) mainly on the
    Chinese market. The IPC team is further divided in 4 teams which correspond t
    o the 4 IP&S BG (Lighting, Consumer Lifestyle, Healthcare and CT).
    PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
    • Contribute to strategic and tactical business decisions with quantitat
    ive and qualitative analysis of patent landscapes and company patent portfolio
    s. The work is done either pro-active or on request of an IP Counsel or manage
    r. The working area is not limited to patents or other Intellectual Property (
    such as trademarks, designs), but also market/business aspects have to be take
    n into account.
    • Deliver reports with analyzed IP information in own and relating areas
    of expertise:
    • Quantitative and qualitative analysis
    • Translating the IP analysis into insights for the internal customer
    • Translating the IP analysis into insights for the internal customer
    • Making own assumptions based on insights and logic
    • IP trend analysis and forecasting.
    • Provide IP&S pro-actively with IP-statistics, IP benchmark information
    and other IP information in own and relating areas of expertise.
    • Contribute to the overall performance and improvement of Business Inte
    lligence, e.g. by participating in improvement teams or by carrying out delega
    ted management tasks or other special assignments.
    • Build a network of IP Intelligence peers.
    • Contribute to create a strong IP portfolio and create value for Philip
    s by providing IP landscaping.
    • Contribute to capture value out of the Philips IP portfolio, by provid
    ing support to value capturing team for assessment of IP position of potential
    licensees.
    JOB REQUIREMENTS
    • Experienced in dealing with databases and Internet searches, preferabl
    y for IP searches. Proven analytical skills
    • Dynamism, pro-activity, very good communication, team playing and will
    ingness to work in a business-oriented environment.
    • Excellent English and Mandarin speaking and writing skills (fluent in
    speaking and writing for Mandarin).
    • Willingness to invest time in learning new skills, especially understa
    nding patents. Willing to stay in this job for 5 years
    • Strong technical knowledge in mechanics and electronics.
    • Strategic and pragmatic, strong analytical skills, independent and cri
    tical, able to assess accuracy, validity and reliability of information, able
    to make assumptions based on insights and logic.
    • Organized, accurate and detail oriented.
    • PhD. or at least Master Degree (Physics or Electrical Engineering)
