Houston， USA， 12 Dec – The Benguela Belize oil platform owned by US company Chevron Corp was awarded “Project of the Year” by the Offshore Energy Association， at it Houston meeting， the association announced Monday.

Forecast production is 220，000 barrels per day.

The Benguela Belize structure， a tower the immersed section of which weighs over 40，000 tons and is located in an area of the sea that is 390 meters deep.

It is the first structure of its kind outside the Gulf of Mexico and is one of the largest in the world.

Chevron， which owns 31 percent of BBLT， manages the project on behalf of several partners including Angolan state oil company Sonangol， Total and Italy‘s ENI with 20 percent each and Galp Energia with 9 percent.
