Chinese President Hu Jintao and his French counterpart, Jacques Chirac, yesterday sent congratulatory messages to mark Monday's inauguration in Paris of the China-France Culture Year.
中國國家主席胡錦濤和法國總統(tǒng)希拉克分別發(fā)出賀信，祝賀中法文化年本周一在巴黎開幕。
Activities in this cultural event in France will showcase the charm of China's ancient cultural achievements and its vigour of modern times, Hu said. The activities will also help promote understanding and friendship between the Chinese and French peoples. Chirac hailed in his message on the all-rounded development of the French-Chinese partnership and wished success for the Year of China that will present hundreds of major cultural events to the French people

The Year of China in France, with more than 300 expositions, performances and seminars featuring the three themes —— eternal China, China of traditions and diversity, and China of creators and modernity, will run till July 2004 across provinces and major cities in France.
法國的中國文化年在法國的各省和主要城市召開，時(shí)間截至2004年7月，其間將舉行300多場展覽會(huì)、表演和討論發(fā)表會(huì)，這些異彩紛呈的交流項(xiàng)目圍繞“古老的中國、多彩的中國和現(xiàn)代的中國”三個(gè)主題進(jìn)行。
