一名伊朗高級(jí)官員2004年9月13日表示，伊朗可能會(huì)在“數(shù)月內(nèi)”恢復(fù)鈾濃縮活動(dòng)。伊朗常駐國(guó)際原子能機(jī)構(gòu)代表侯賽因·穆薩維安說(shuō)，伊朗在離心機(jī)技術(shù)上已經(jīng)實(shí)現(xiàn)自給。離心機(jī)技術(shù)是鈾濃縮的關(guān)鍵技術(shù)，它通過(guò)產(chǎn)生一種鈾氣體，確保提煉高純度濃縮鈾。美國(guó)2003年指責(zé)伊朗秘密制造核武器，國(guó)際原子能機(jī)構(gòu)隨即對(duì)伊朗進(jìn)行核查。作為建立信任的措施，伊朗2003年10月暫停鈾濃縮活動(dòng)。
