2004年9月13日早晨，港府選舉管理委員會(huì)正式公布了香港第三屆立法會(huì)選舉的投票結(jié)果。這次選舉是歷來(lái)最多候選人參選的一次，而且競(jìng)爭(zhēng)也是歷屆最激烈的，可以說(shuō)是泛民主派和親北京陣營(yíng)的一次對(duì)決，選舉結(jié)果也將影響香港未來(lái)四年的施政。

Final results of the election of Hong Kong's third term Legislative Council began to be announced by the Electoral Affairs Commission here Monday morning. On Sunday, a total of 1.784 million electors, or 55.6 percent, from the geographical constituencies cast their votes, the commission said.
Constituency 常用作復(fù)數(shù)，表示“全體選民，選區(qū)，選區(qū)居民”。例如：nurse a constituency（籠絡(luò)一批選民）；sweep a constituency（在選區(qū)中獲得壓倒多數(shù)的選票）。此外，constituency還有“（一批）顧客，期刊訂戶，支持者，贊助者”的意思。
