    24. So far as he could see,he had only to will the thing.據(jù)他看來,他只須表達(dá)出意愿來,事情就會(huì)辦成。
    According to his understanding,he had just to try to make something happen with his mental power,it would happen.
    so/as far as *******. can see (know,remember…)據(jù)某人所知,表示對要說的情況的準(zhǔn)確性尚無的把握,只是個(gè)人的看法或感覺。(as far as )更普通。
    So far as I remember,he came to this city 20 years ago. 我記得他是 20 年前來到這個(gè)城市的。
    As far as I can see,he is a reliable person whom you can turn to in difficulty. 據(jù)我所見,他是一個(gè)你在困難時(shí)可以向他求助的可靠的人。
    25.In the early hours of the morning he reached the fact that his will power must be unusual and strong.到次日凌晨,他已經(jīng)得出結(jié)論:他的意志力肯定是非凡的、強(qiáng)大的。
    Soon after midnight he had concluded that his will power was unusual and strong.

    reach the fact that:conclude that 認(rèn)識(shí)到事情的真相,得出結(jié)論

    be struck with/by/ on:to be favourably impressed by 突然想到,被……留下印象
    I was struck by his proposal. 他的提議給我留下深刻的印象。
    The speech struck deep into the minds of the people.演說深深打動(dòng)了人們。
    I was struck with a happy thought. 我突然有一個(gè)愉快的想法。

    thoughtful:沉思的,在認(rèn)真考慮的;體貼的
