It was so embarrassing. 真令人困窘,好糗。
    這句話的意境,主要是什么事讓人難為情。
    我舉個例子
    A:Tom is a selfish man.
    B: Stop talking!!He is behind you.
    A:Why don't you tell me earlier? That was so embarrassing.
    I need first aid. 我需要急救。
    緊急情況,你受傷了,你就可以說了
    例句:Help, Help...My leg is badly hurt.I need first aid.

    觸手可及的,在不遠處,即將來臨 這些狀態(tài)下使用
    1)在轉(zhuǎn)彎處 (常用于問路)

    Let's call it a day. 我們今天就到這兒吧。
    意思是Let's stop for now. 或者Let's stop for today.
    通常指的是工作,會議和學(xué)習(xí)現(xiàn)在的或者今天的結(jié)束了。
    I'm not in the mood. 我沒心情。
    當(dāng)你現(xiàn)在不喜歡做什么事情,不想關(guān)心什么或者不想去什么地方時。你可以說:I'm not in the mood.我沒心情。
    例如:

    Alison:Sorry, Tim. I'm very busy now. I'm not in the mood.mood

    這句也可以說成"I just can't take it anymore" OR "I can't take it no more" (更象黑人的口語)

    這句話強調(diào)的是說話者非常關(guān)注此事,讓對方放心的一種說法。
    It's hard to say. 很難說。
    當(dāng)別人問你一些事情(比如:一個觀點的對錯)時,你不知道具體說什么來回答時,可以說It's hard to say.很難說。
    May I leave a message? 能幫我稍個口信嗎?
    這一般是用于電話中,要找某人,而那人不在時,你可以向接電話的人說:"May I leave a message?"
    這是簡單常用的電話英語。
    如:
    --Sorry, but she is with someone right now.抱歉,她正在會客。
    --I see. May I leave her a message then?噢,那我可以留話給她嗎?
    --Certainly.當(dāng)然可以。
    相似的表達:
    May I leave a message? /Could you give him a message? /Could you tell him Mr. Zhang called?
    我可以留個口信嗎?/您能傳個口信給他嗎?/您能告訴他張先生給他打過電話嗎?
    I am terribly sorry. 我非常遺憾。
    之前和朋友約好要一起去買東西時,因為工作或是其它原因去不了,就可以說:I am terribly sorry.
    terribly adv.表程度的副詞,還可以用于:This job is terribly boring.
    It's no use complaining. 發(fā)牢騷沒什么用。
    動詞的不定式和-ing形式在語法中都可以作句子主語,但It's no use doing sth是一個習(xí)慣用語,類似的用法還有It s no good doing sth。
    It is + no use, no good (fun, a great pleasure, a waste of time, a bore...)等名詞+doing sth.
    It is no use crying.哭沒有用。It is no good objecting.反對也沒有用。
    It is a great fun playing football.打籃球很有趣。
    It is a waste of time trying to explain.設(shè)法解釋是浪費時間。
    3)It is + useless (nice, good,interesting, expensive等形容詞)+ doing sth.
    It is useless speaking.光說沒用。
    It is nice seeing you again.真高興又遇到了你。
    It is good Playing chess after supper.晚飯后弈棋挺好。
    It is expensive running this car.開這種小車是浪費。
    Fasten your seat belt. 系好你的安全帶。
    這本來的意思就是開車時要系好安全帶: Fasten your seat belt, it's the law 系好你的安全帶, 這是法規(guī)。
    We're going to have a bumpy ride ahead, fasten your seat belt. 前面有段顛簸路,系好安全帶。
    從這引申出抽象的對付困難和變化的情況。 比如說,國家要削減福利來對付經(jīng)濟困難時,要做好心理準備。
    There will be a cut in your social benefits, fasten your seat belt. 你的社會福利將被削減,做好準備。
    I'm sorry to hear that. 聽到這個消息我感到很遺憾。
    當(dāng)聽到別人遭遇不幸,如生病、去世、考試不及格、比賽失敗等不好的情況時,就可以用這句話來表達自己的遺憾、同情、關(guān)懷或安慰時常說這句話。
    e.g.:
    1. A: I was a little ill.我有點不舒服。
     B: I’m sorry to hear that.聽到這事,我很難過。
    2. A: My grandfather passed away yesterday. 我的祖父昨天去世了。
     B: I’m very sorry to hear that.聽到這個消息,我很難過。

    當(dāng)問起某人的人生目標時可以用該句

    兩個人見面或初次見面時說的.這句話是主系表結(jié)構(gòu),因為有系動詞,動詞meet應(yīng)變成ing形式,也就是It's nice meeting you.
    還有一種說法:Nice to meet you.
    回答是:Nice to meet you,too.
    在處次見面時還可說:Nice to see you.
    Congratulations on your promotion! 恭喜高升!

    When you get a promotion, your colleagues will express thieir congratulations to you, when it's used. Or if you show your congratulations to your friends, it's useful.
    Don't let this get you down. 不要為此灰心喪氣。
    這是一句常用英語口語。用于安慰、鼓勵、支持別人的時候。
    get sb. down 使某人沮喪,是一個常用詞組。get down 的本身也有“使沮喪”的意思。
    例句:Loneliness can get you down./孤獨會使人心情沮喪。
    類似的說法:Don't be discouraged 不要沮喪。
    相對來說,Don't let this get you down.比較常用,也更形象.
    另外說讓人沮喪,讓人失望,還可以用let sb down 。
    let you down 就是“讓你掉下去”,也就是“讓你沮喪”的意思了。
    說一個人很讓你失望,就可以說“You let me down."(你太令我失望了)
    Don't let me down.(不要讓我失望。)
    從語法來看,沒什么困難,是祈使句。
    I am calling from a pay phone. 我是用公共電話打的。
    電話用語?;緵]有語法難點。只要把單詞意思弄懂就行了。
