deal: 很多事都是交易
俺們購物時（in shopping)，商家(the seller, storekeeper)開出一個價offer a price，你少不了討價還價（bargain)，或者血腥一點，干脆“砍價”。雙方達成一致（reach an agreement)后，買賣雙方說：
It's a deal.
意思當然是相當于（be equivalent to)“成交”，字面意義（literal meaning)卻只是“這是一筆交易”。
在這個deal中，
The buyer and the seller deal with each other. 我要收藏
買賣雙方彼此交易。
做動詞變成“做交易／做生意”，順理成章。
換個環(huán)境，不是購物（instead of shopping)，而是不巧在大學遇到一個惡心的英語老師(happen to have an awful English teacher)，又要逃課又想不掛，
Your have to deal with the disgusting English teacher.
那顯然不是做生意，而是想法對付。
而如果deal with a problem?
____問題？
（想法）解決。
再如果deal with the implication of Lu Xun's works？
____魯迅爺爺作品的含義？
（拼命）理解。
甚至，在各類殺千刀（kill a thousand knives——哈哈)的閱讀考試中，有一類題目會問：
What does the passage mainly deal with?
顯然（apparently, obviously, evidently)，文章這個同志，不會做生意，也不能處理或理解。問題只能是文章“主要講些啥”，傳說中的主旨題也。
fund
“基金”里牛的，估計是IMF，因為又洋氣又有錢：International Monetary Fund。
長得跟它想像的一些詞，相對比較鄉(xiāng)土氣。不妨組合一起感受一下：
find a fund 找到一個基金
found a fund 建立一個基金
the foundation of a fund 一個基金的基礎
fundamental changes 根本的變革
注意found既可能是find的過去式，也可能是另一個詞“建立”，建一個啥第一件事是foundation(根基）,而foundation所具有的性質(zhì)就是“根本的”（fundamental)。
