不定冠詞
不定冠詞有兩個a和an.
a 用在以輔音開頭的詞前，an用在以元音開頭的詞.
a 一般讀作[ə]，an一般讀作[ən].
在強調(diào)或單獨讀時分別讀作[ei] 和 [æn].
如:
an island 一個島 a small island 一個小島 an elephant 一頭大象 a university 一所大學(xué) an honest man 一個誠實的男人，等等。
不定冠詞a 來源于數(shù)詞 one 指一個的意思，與可數(shù)名詞單數(shù)連用，表示某類人或東西的一個， 例如：
He wears a black hat all the years round.
他一年到頭帶一頂黑帽子。
Why do you carry an umbrella on such a fine day？
天氣這么好你帶雨傘做什么？
不定冠詞也可用于特指，
例如：A tiger has escaped. 一只老虎逃跑了。
注意與下句區(qū)別: A tiger is dangerous. 老虎是危險的。
