缺”；want除了表示缺乏，還多了“迫切的需要”這一層意思，主觀性較強；而shortage強調(diào)的是一時的短缺，暗示在可見的將來可以彌補。 如：
     All his wants are satisfied.
     他的所有需求都得到了滿足。
     There is a shortage of teachers in the school this year. 今年學(xué)校比較缺教師。
    land
    n. 陸地；國家；國土。如：
    We traveled by land until we reached the seashore.
    我們在陸路旅行，一直到海邊。（land是相對sea和air而言的。）
    After living in foreign lands for many years, he went back home at last.
    在外國居住了多年之后，他終于回到了家。
    v. 著陸；登岸。如：
    The plane will land on Lanzhou airport.
    飛機將降落在蘭州機場。
    The troops landed on the island at dawn.
    部隊已于黎明時分在島上登陸。
