Dear Colleagues:
Finally, it comes to the time for me to go forward. In this few weeks, something that is circling round my mind is Xu Zhimou’s famous poem - “Zai Bie Kang Qiao” (Farewell Kang Bridge). Even though I really admire his natural and light-hearted, I just can not make it. For the past 3 months, I have received too many concerns, best wishes, treat and gifts so that I can not only wave my hand gently and disappear silently like him. I can not help wanting to say something from the bottom of my heart.
It is exactly 10 years that I have stayed in Singapore. It is exactly 7 years and 8 months that I have worked in SIMTech. Nobody (of my friends in Shanghai) expected that I would come to Singapore. Nobody expected that I would stay in Singapore for 10 years. From all my life, I have always taken efforts to go forward. However, I stopped here for 10 years. What hold my steps to go forward? They are Gintic/SIMTech, Singapore and you - my dear colleagues. It is you and only you who have the power to keep me here for ten years. There existed the time that devoted my whole body and mind to Gintic/SIMTech. I cherished the chance to work with you and really felt very happy to work here. There also existed the time that I enjoyed the fun from SIMTech Club, Toastmaster Club, International Researchers Club (IRC), NTU Staff Recreation Club (SRC) and Science Center (I was once a volunteer and temporary staff there), as well as from games like western line dance, bowling, golf, gym, swimming, yoga, Taiji, tennis and darts (Five days ago, I just became the winner of lady single from SRC Annual Darts Competition 2007). This is my life in Singapore. I devoted my whole body and mind here and nearly forgot my dream as well as forgot the world is still very big……
Now it is really the time to go forward. I need to get to know the world that has been ignored by me all the time. I really need to take a break and traveling around. I do not know what is waiting for me in my future. What I know clearly is that I must go forward, no matter what consequence it will be. Maybe someday I may choose to come back Singapore. That is because ten years is really long enough to change the whole life of a person. Indeed, how many ten years in one person’s life, especially best ten years?.....
I remembered I brought a big bag of gifts after I came back from traveling last year. But, when I stood in the front of pigeon holes and wanted to share my happiness with you, I was inert there. Too many names recalled my memory so that I found my so-called big bag was so small. Besides, I was also afraid that it was too brusque to distribute my gifts to the colleagues who had not had this kind of sharing experience with me. This case impressed me a lot. 7 years and 8 months is really not a short time. Too many colleagues once offered helps to me. Too many lifts I once received from you. Too many cake vouchers also recorded the times that I shared your happiness, etc…..The word “Thank You” really can not express my deep appreciations to you. The happy time staying with you has become history, become eternal and become one of the most important parts of my life…..
Please forgive my sentimental and talkative. This is the first time and may be the last time as well.
Please feel free to contact with me by my following email ****@hotmail.com in the future. It would always be my pleasure to have chance to meet you again.
No matter where I am in the world in the future, I will remember the happy time that I spent with you in SIMTech. No matter how far I will stay from Singapore in the future, I will send my sincere and best wishes to all of you - my colleagues, SIMTech and Singapore quietly:
All the Best to All of You, SIMTech and Singapore!

This is a letter I received when I was doing industry attachment(實習(xí)) in SIMTech. It was wrote by a people who was leaving soon at that time. I was deeply moved by this letter although I even didn't know who this person was. I saved this letter and shared with everyone else. I think the author would be happy that we like hisher article.
