2008年12月18日凌晨，RAE2008(Research Assessment Exercise)教學研究質量評估報告在全英大學和各國學子的矚目下出爐了！這是自7年前的RAE2001以來，對英國大學權威的評估。這對中國學生申請英國研究生具有重要的指導作用，也是英國政府撥款的發(fā)放、各大國際化公司研究中心和試驗點設立的惟一依據(jù)，可見此評估的權威性。

三星：達到世界較高水平
二星：達到世界認可水平
一星：達到國內(nèi)認可水平
u/c ：尚未達到國內(nèi)水平
數(shù)據(jù)下面的數(shù)字為該領域內(nèi)被評為該的課程在學校所開設的所有該類課程中所占的百分比。也就是說，一所學校達到四星的科目百分比越多，達到U/C的科目所占的比例越少，則該校該領域的研究越卓越。
以電子電氣工程為例，可以看出，在電子電氣方向研究較突出的學校（安字母順序依次）為：巴斯大學、帝國理工學院、利茲大學、曼徹斯特大學、謝菲爾德大學、薩里大學、班戈大學等。
