China’s first-ever-suicide-prevention center opened on July 1st in the capital of East China’s Jiangsu province.
Professor Zhai Zhutao, head of the center, said about 10 per cent of the population suffer from psychological(心理上的)trouble of various kinds, and that suicides are on the rise.
The center offers telephone, mail and face-to-face advising services while spreading knowledge on how to prevent suicides among people and families.
