To Err Is Not Only Human

Recently, there have been so many reports in the newspaper
about airplane crashes and people dying, that people think
airplanes are very unreliable. So the scientists and an aviation
company were cracking their heads trying to make a new
airplane that had no need for manpower; it was just
completely automatic and electronic, with computer voice
communication and all that.
So the first one ever was finally made. And everyone was
very excited; the passengers who came up to board it for the
first time were like the guests of honor. And they all came
aboard and then everything was done. The doors closed, and
they took off. When they were in mid-air already they heard
a voice, speaking from the loudspeaker: "Dear valued
customers, gentlemen and ladies. Welcome to the first ever
electronically controlled airplane. We are forever done with
human-controlled aircraft, because this is electronically piloted.
You will be safe and secure. So just fasten your seatbelts, sit
back and enjoy your trip. Because this is all electronically
controlled, nothing can ever go wrong, go wrong, go wrong,
go wrong, go wrong..." And then of course everyone panicked
and ran and tried to find a way to get out. But there came a
calm voice over the back-up system. It was a very calm, cool
and collected voice, saying: "Ladies and gentlemen, sit back.
There is nowhere to go but here and now." Then the same
voice said, "Please repeat after me, 'Our Father who are
in Heaven'..."

最近因?yàn)橛刑囡w機(jī)事故及人員死亡的新聞報(bào)導(dǎo)，令大家覺得飛機(jī)很不可靠，所以科學(xué)家和航空公司絞盡腦汁，設(shè)計(jì)新型的無(wú)人駕駛飛機(jī)，完全自動(dòng)化而且電子化，具備電腦語(yǔ)音溝通等設(shè)備。
第一架新型飛機(jī)終于完工推出，大家都很興奮，首航的乘客都是備受禮遇的貴賓，登機(jī)后一切就緒，就關(guān)閉機(jī)門，正式起飛了。飛到半空中時(shí)，擴(kuò)音器傳出聲音說：「各位貴賓，各位先生、女士們，歡迎搭乘第一架全電子控制的飛機(jī)。我們已經(jīng)不再需要人力控制的飛機(jī)了，這架飛機(jī)是全電子控制，因此非常安全。請(qǐng)坐好、系好安全帶，享受您的旅程。因?yàn)檫@架飛機(jī)是全電子控制，所以絕不會(huì)出錯(cuò)、出錯(cuò)、出錯(cuò)、出錯(cuò)、出錯(cuò)……」
大家當(dāng)然都非?？只?，四處跑著找逃生的出口，這時(shí)有一個(gè)平靜的聲音從備援系統(tǒng)傳出來，語(yǔ)氣十分鎮(zhèn)定地說：「各位先生、女士們，請(qǐng)回座位，這里無(wú)處可逃?！谷缓笸瑯拥穆曇艚又f：「請(qǐng)跟著我念：『我天上的父??！……』」
