Too Diligent
A shipment came into the port. It contained crystal being
imported into the country. When the dock workers were
unloading the cargo,their supervisor came by to check if
everything was okay with the crystal. He saw a new
packaging worker and patted his shoulder, saying, "Oh,
you are doing well and I observe that you have done
as I asked. You have stamped the top end of each box with 'This
side up, handle with care.' This is very good. You are doing a very
good job, and you haven't missed a box. You've stamped every
box. I've noticed that. This is good, very good."
"Yes, sir, I am a very, very diligent man, as I told you on my first
day of work. I even stamped the bottom end of each box with
the same mark. I stamped both ends, just to be sure."
勤奮過度
有一艘貨船進(jìn)港卸貨，船上裝載的是進(jìn)口水晶，這些水晶被運(yùn)送到這個(gè)
國家來。當(dāng)工人把裝水晶的箱子搬出來時(shí)，一位監(jiān)工過來巡視，檢查看
看水晶有沒有任何問題。他看到一位新來的包裝工人，就拍拍他的肩膀
說：「嗯，你做得很好，我看到你完全遵照我的指示，在每個(gè)箱子的頂
端都蓋了『此面朝上，小心輕放』的警示戳記，非常好，表現(xiàn)優(yōu)秀，沒
有漏掉任何一個(gè)箱子，全都蓋上戳記，我都注意到了，很好。」工人回
答：「是的，監(jiān)工，我第一天來上班的時(shí)候就告訴過您，我工作非常勤
奮，這次我甚至連箱子底部也都蓋了同樣的戳記，所以兩面都有，絕對
不會(huì)有問題！」
