Took up gymnastics as a primary schoolpupil in Changsha, Hunan Province in 1984. Chosen by the Hunan provincial team at age eight. Joined the national team at 13. 湖南省長(zhǎng)沙市吉祥巷小學(xué)讀書時(shí)，就開始了體操訓(xùn)練。8歲時(shí)進(jìn)入湖南省體操中心專業(yè)隊(duì)，13歲入選國(guó)家隊(duì)。

1998 World Cup - 1st balance beam and 2000 Sydney Olympic Games - 1st balance beam. 1998年獲得世界杯體操賽平衡木冠軍。2000年，獲得悉尼奧運(yùn)會(huì)平衡木冠軍。
