I have finished my TOEFL test on Jan.12 with a satisfied score.
During the time that I was preparing for TOEFL， I was benefited a lot from the suggestion listed by the people who attended the test. Considering that many people take TOEFL CBT for the first time like me， here I'd like to share my experiences below， hope it is helpful to you.
以往經(jīng)驗(yàn)中說(shuō)機(jī)經(jīng)或備考經(jīng)驗(yàn)的有許多，所以，我只是側(cè)重應(yīng)試要注意的問(wèn)題，看完此文，你基本對(duì)TOEFL CBT考試及注意事項(xiàng)會(huì)有足夠的認(rèn)識(shí)。個(gè)中有些觀點(diǎn)比較個(gè)人，雖然我認(rèn)為很正確，僅供參考。
First of all， I am really sorry that my Chinese typing is extremely slow， thus I have to type most of my words in English.
ATTENDANCE
* Besides arriving earlier than half an hour and bringing 2 of your ID， you'd better to bring your confirmation No. as well.
In my case， they made a little error in my personal information therefore can't justify my test eligibility. Fortunately， I put a sticker with confirmation No. on my passport， so finally find my information out.
* Before testing， the steps you should follow are：
- Put your personal belongingsintosthe lockers
- Sign up for your attendance
- Make a statement promising not to reveal any of test content and sign your name
- Give the statement to the officer and wait until you are called.
（For anyone who wants to take a rest instead of taking test soon， you'd better to sign up your attendance or hand in your statement later.）
- When you are called， they will check your ID again， ask you to double check your personal information and take your photo. After that， you are IMMEDIATELY allowedsintosthe room to start the test. （That's why if you'd like to take a rest， you have to arrange it before this step.）
BEGINNING OF THE TEST
At the beginning of the test， you will be shown some introduction such as how to use mouse etc. There is a small button "Quit"， you can press it to enter the next part. Just feel free to press it to skip the introduction if you don't want to see. （For me， I don't know it before. When I press the "quit"， worrying about making mistakes， I really feel pressured.）
LISTENING
After you skip the introduction of the beginning， you will enter the tutorials for Listening， which is important so can not be dismissed. When the time you are reading the tutorials， you'd better to find whether most of testers in the same line as yours has arrived， because their attendance might dilute your listening concentration. If only few people have arrived， you can read your tutorials slowly to extend the time. When the time to adjust the volume of the earphone， remember to make the volume "one click" LOUDER than the one you like. Because in the actual test， the volume is a little bit lighter than what the testing voice is.
Many people don't notice that the volume can also be adjust through旋紐on both the left and the right of the earphone. I would say， they are very useful to adjust the voice balance， rather than increase or reduce the volume. Adjust voice balance is also very important， which can fit your daily habit very well.
When you enter the part試聽(tīng)，began to practice your concentration. Because it takes a little time for you to enter a good status for listening， this part is really a good beginning to be fully utilized. For me， I thought that I have to save some energy for the real test， so just try to be relaxed during this part. Actually I was wrong at that time. Just like before running， you have to warm up first.
When the moment the real test started， the volume of the earphone will suddenly back to be very small. Don't be shocked at that time， just re- adjust the volume by clicking the volume arrow. You can finish it in a few seconds because you needn't to adjust the balance of the volume again. This adjusting time was included in the total listening time.
After finishing adjusting the volume， DISMISS the direction immediately！ There is a square button on the middle of the right side. Press this "dismiss" button to save the time for your listening. During the test， two of the most important things are： highly concentrating （千萬(wàn)不要胡思亂想！?。?and memorizing the key points.
我的考試一共是49題，估計(jì)一月考的人都會(huì)是這樣，不再象PP中是30題。所以大家要有充分的思想準(zhǔn)備，以免到時(shí)嚇一跳影響考試心情。答題時(shí)間有25分鐘。我覺(jué)得很充裕，我答完還有大概8分多鐘。所以大家對(duì)答題時(shí)間應(yīng)該不要感到心理有壓力，夠時(shí)間的。需要提醒的是，對(duì)你不知道的題，你要果斷猜一個(gè)，確認(rèn)，做下題。猜題的時(shí)候最容易不知不覺(jué)費(fèi)很多時(shí)間，這樣可能會(huì)讓后面不夠時(shí)間的。不要撿了芝麻丟了西瓜！更何況這顆芝麻也不一定能撿到。反正左右都是猜的，讀讀四個(gè)選項(xiàng)，做一下推理和排除，最多花個(gè)1分鐘時(shí)間，果斷選擇，然后做下一題！對(duì)于你不確信的題，做完就不要再想，不然一樣容易影響后面的題目。
我的考試是：Part A： 19題短對(duì)話和Part B： 9個(gè)段子題
我考（我的聽(tīng)力是24）的短對(duì)話中，多數(shù)是兩個(gè)人對(duì)話來(lái)回三個(gè)回合的，后來(lái)出現(xiàn)些四個(gè)回合的，有沒(méi)有五個(gè)的，我忘了，有也很少，不然應(yīng)該會(huì)有印象。
我的Part B中有6個(gè)是學(xué)術(shù)形的段子，分別為：天文兩個(gè)（月亮，Jupiter旁邊的asteroid），文化一個(gè)（畫畫的techniques），農(nóng)業(yè)一個(gè)（Fish farming），生態(tài)學(xué)的一個(gè)（Lake的生態(tài)平衡），考古一個(gè)（鑒定古畫）。題目一般都是4個(gè)一篇，有個(gè)別是3個(gè)，有一篇5個(gè)。有3個(gè)是long conversation，校園生活相關(guān)的。這種比較簡(jiǎn)單，而題目只有兩個(gè)一篇。
題目中主題題時(shí)必考的。
關(guān)于聽(tīng)力的機(jī)經(jīng)。個(gè)人認(rèn)為要不看得滾瓜爛熟，要不就不要看。事實(shí)上，我認(rèn)為，聽(tīng)力PP在23以上的人，完全沒(méi)必要看聽(tīng)力的機(jī)經(jīng)。因?yàn)榭荚囎鲱}的時(shí)候，concentration集中精神非常非常重要，但是當(dāng)你聽(tīng)到這似乎是機(jī)經(jīng)段子時(shí)，你很容易在腦海里檢索機(jī)經(jīng)的內(nèi)容是怎樣的，試圖調(diào)機(jī)經(jīng)出來(lái)。盡管你會(huì)很小心的這樣做，但是一樣很容易讓重要的內(nèi)容slip過(guò)去沒(méi)聽(tīng)到或沒(méi)記住。我的經(jīng)歷就是這樣，所以考完試雖然我也很高興，但是心里總是隱隱遺憾，覺(jué)得憑自己考應(yīng)該可以做到25或26分。對(duì)于聽(tīng)力還有問(wèn)題但是不得不在近期考試的朋友，個(gè)人認(rèn)為可以練習(xí)提高聽(tīng)力的同時(shí)，將機(jī)經(jīng)看得非常熟練，做到一聽(tīng)到就知道機(jī)經(jīng)的內(nèi)容是怎樣，根本不必想。（如果做不到這樣的，不如把看機(jī)經(jīng)的時(shí)間那去練聽(tīng)力吧。）因?yàn)闄C(jī)經(jīng)的重復(fù)率還是挺高的，我的九個(gè)段子中有三個(gè)是有機(jī)經(jīng)的，可是，與我而言（機(jī)經(jīng)只在臨考前一天速看了一遍），根本就沒(méi)有幫助，反而因?yàn)榛貞洐C(jī)經(jīng)而漏記了一些重要內(nèi)容。因?yàn)橹灰隳苈?tīng)懂，怎么詳盡的機(jī)經(jīng)都不夠自己當(dāng)場(chǎng)聽(tīng)的多且清楚。你聽(tīng)不清楚的，機(jī)經(jīng)可能更不詳盡（因?yàn)楸籈TS大堆段子狂轟亂炸之后，還能回來(lái)回憶內(nèi)容并且記錄確實(shí)不易），所以記起也沒(méi)用，反而讓自己漏掉更多的內(nèi)容。
聽(tīng)力的難度跟PP還是挺相當(dāng)?shù)?。測(cè)試PP，你可以知道自己實(shí)際考試的分?jǐn)?shù)大概會(huì)怎樣。所以建議留PP2在臨考前幾天才做。PP1則可以拿來(lái)做多幾次當(dāng)練習(xí)。
（題外話，跟本文的主題不是那么相關(guān)，但是還是想和你們share我的聽(tīng)力三大"黃金原則"：Practice these 3 abilities during preparation： Understanding， Concentration and memorizing. 3種能力，缺一不可。在后期準(zhǔn)備中，understanding已經(jīng)沒(méi)有大問(wèn)題，鍛煉memorizing重點(diǎn)內(nèi)容尤其重要?？荚嚨亩巫觭ometimes unbelievable long， but the questions will still ask something very detail.）
GRAMMAR
It's not a big problem to most of the Chinese testers. So I just want to say：
- When the real test started， dismissed the direction to save the time.
- Keep a good pace. My total questions are 20 for 15 minutes， same as in PP. My split is 8 minutes for the fist 10 questions， 7 minutes for the last.
10. I have 2 minutes left after finishing this part.在做題到中間（10題上下）的時(shí)候，要用眼睛掃一下左上角的時(shí)間，這樣，你有足夠的空間決定后面的題要加速還是減速。
- Be careful in the sentence correction， don't make a choice until you have observed all the four choices.
這句話也是我臨考前一兩天告誡自己的話。通過(guò)控制pace和仔細(xì)，我的語(yǔ)法是13-29.平時(shí)做PP?？紩r(shí)也就28這樣，但是剩5分鐘以上。其實(shí)平時(shí)review時(shí)發(fā)現(xiàn)有很多題是粗心錯(cuò)的，所以?？己涂荚嚂r(shí)一定要讓自己多長(zhǎng)一個(gè)心眼。
（PS：新東方的2002年4月語(yǔ)法筆記非常好用，不妨在網(wǎng)上download下來(lái)在考試前最后兩三天的時(shí)候review一遍或兩遍。）
BREAK
- After the grammar part， you should rush out to toilet and eat some chocolate whether you have desire or not. Drink a little water if you want， but NOT too much. After that， back quickly， for the break is only 5 minutes.
- Come in and out the test room， you are required to sign in and out at the entrance.
READING
- It's very important to keep your pace.
我的split是15分鐘做一篇，每題都做仔細(xì)。在有疑問(wèn)的題上不要花過(guò)多時(shí)間，以免影響后面的時(shí)間來(lái)不及。有疑問(wèn)的題號(hào)記下來(lái)，
最后留的十分種來(lái)檢查。
- When the real test started， dismissed the direction to save the time.
- Reading的單詞機(jī)經(jīng)認(rèn)為必看，而且在考試前一天一定要review一遍。
- Reading的理解機(jī)經(jīng)我從來(lái)不看，個(gè)人認(rèn)為完全沒(méi)必要看。
WRITING
- You can choose to write in the computer or in the paper. Which one you prefer is depending on your preference. For me， I would prefer computer test for the writing part.
- When the real test started， dismissed the direction to save the time. I remember you have to click the button TWICE to dismiss the direction， which is different from other parts.
- Use template
- It is important to leave about 5 minutes for review the errors of grammar or spelling. During the review， you will also find some transactions in your writing are not smooth.
bAFTER TEST
- After test， there is a small survey. After that， your score will be shown on the screen. You can decide to keep it or cancel it AFTER viewing it.
- Then you will be asked whether you would like to choose 4 institutions to send your score or keep it only as personal report.
- After confirming you want to send the scores to institution， you will enter another part to choose your choices.
- After finishing the test， you will not have any paper report. （象我就有點(diǎn)傻，waiting there for report after signing out， until the officer tell me that I can go then. ） If you choose computer writing test， you will receive your report 2 weeks later.
