Milk powder produced by Sanlu Group was discovered to contain melamine, which was believed to be the cause of a urinary system abnormality of over 294,000 babies throughout China.

5 Faked Photo of the South China Tiger （華南虎照造假）
Netizens cast doubt on the authenticity of a photo of South China tiger taken by Zhou Zhenglong (a local hunter) and released by the Shaanxi Forestry Bureau. This marked the beginning of an open conflict between China’s grassroot netizens and production of faked goods.

6 Shenzhou VII （神舟七號）
At 16:41 on September 27, Chinese astronaut Zhai Zhigang floated out of the mother ship, Shenzhou VII, making China the third country capable of sending human beings into space to perform space walking.
去年9月27日，中國航天員翟志剛走出神舟七號，使中國成為第三個把宇航員送入太空進行太空行走的國家。
7 Presidential Election of the United States （美國總統(tǒng)大選）
On November 4, 2008, Barack Obama, the Deomcratic presidential candidate of the United States, beat his opponent, John McCain, and was elected the 56th president of the U.S. Obama is the first African-American president in American history.

Originally referring to the stronghold of robbers in the mountains, Shanzhai is now often used to describe copycat brands without independent R&D capacity, which survive in the market by producing goods similar to those of big brands. This is now regarded as a social culture of anti-mainstream grassroots.
