現(xiàn)在我們再來談一談新托福的后一部分內(nèi)容----閱讀。所幸的是，閱讀是新托福中變化小的一部分。我們過去培訓閱讀的材料和方法仍然有效。主要變化是增加了二種新題型。
新托福閱讀的整體變化如下：
1. iBT的閱讀量減少至三篇文章，第一篇文章規(guī)定二十分鐘內(nèi)做完。后兩篇共分配四十分鐘。
2. 每篇文章的長度大幅度增長，每篇大約六百到七百字，大約比原來多百分之五十的篇幅?？偣灿腥艂€問題。
iBT 閱讀中的新題型：
1. 句子解釋題：選擇某個選項來正確表達文章某句話（通常是一個較長的復雜句）的主要意思。例如：
Passage: Were Earth to be juxtaposed with the Great Red Spot, our planet would be dwarfed in comparison, with a diameter less than half that of the Great Red Spot。。。。。。
Question: Which of the sentences below best expresses the essential information in the highlighted sentence in the passage? Incorrect choices change the meaning in important ways or leave out essential information.
Ο The density of the Great Red Spot is much higher than that of the Earth.
Ο If the diameter of the Great Red Spot were doubled, it would equal that of the Earth.
Ο By placing the Earth next to the Great Red Spot, one could see that the Earth has a much smaller diameter.
Ο Because the Earth is close to the Great Red Spot, Earth is influenced by its huge size.
通過分析理解，第三項正確地表達了那句話的意思。
2. 多項選擇題：要求對文章中的信息分類，填表或完成一個總結(jié)。而且這種題目的分值通常是二到四分，所以相當重要。限于篇幅我們略去文章，只展示問題，給大家一個直觀的感覺

Directions: Select the appropriate phrases from the answer choices and match them to the type of organism to which they relate. Two of the answer choices will NOT be used.This is worth 4 points.
