Helen: Today’s new word is ‘shades’. shades.
Zoe: Shades. 你能給我們講講它的意思嗎？Helen?
Helen: Well, shades is another word for sunglasses.
Zoe: 我知道 shade 在英語里是陰暗，陰涼處的意思，所以我想把太陽眼鏡（墨鏡）說成 shades 可能也是從這個意思來的吧?？墒俏覀儜撛趺从盟兀?BR> Helen: Well, it’s an informal word. so you could say to a friend ‘I need to buy some new shades for my holidays`.
Zoe: 哦，原來 shades 就是在不正規(guī)場合時候用的，墨鏡的意思
Helen: That’s right.
