Dear Sir or Madam,
I’m writing to recommend(推薦)to you the outstanding(杰出的)personality(個性)and the super(超凡的)ability for learning(學(xué)習(xí)能力)of Mr. Robert Jiang.
I got to know Mr. Jiang a few years ago while I was teaching British literature(英國文學(xué))to a class of English majors(英語專業(yè)學(xué)生)in which he was a student. His excellent performances(出色表現(xiàn))on several occasions(在幾個場合)such as group discussions(分組討論)and open debate(公開辯論)really took me by great surprise(令我大為吃驚). Never had I met a young student speaking English so fluently(流利地)and accurately(準(zhǔn)確地). His insight(洞察力)into British literature as a whole(整體)as well as(以及)the perspectives(視角)he cut into(切入)the analysis(分析)of characters(人物)in the literature aroused(引起)my great curiosity about(對。。。的好奇心)his first-class(一流的)and unique(獨(dú)特的)capability(能力)of doing research work. Later on(后來), upon his completion(完成)of the Bachelor degree, he moved on(繼續(xù))to pursue(追求，從事)his study for a Master’s degree in the same field of study(專業(yè)研究領(lǐng)域)and I was very lucky to be his supervisor(導(dǎo)師). Mr. Jiang has always been an honest(誠實(shí)的)person. He is very friendly to people and is very easy-going(性情隨和的). Many of his classmates have mentioned(提到)on different occasions(在不同的場合)about how helpful(樂于助人的)he was to them and to which I simply(簡直)cannot agree more(再贊成不過了).
Now Mr. Jiang is applying(申請)to your prestigious(久負(fù)盛名的)university for a chance to continue his Ph.D research(博士學(xué)位研究). I hope you’ll find he is just as good as I’m now recommending him to be.
