I succeeded because I willed it; I never hesitated. —— Napoleon
    我成功是因?yàn)槲矣袥Q心，從不躊躇。 —— 拿破侖
    hesitate指躊躇，猶豫的意思。我們可以說(shuō)：
    He hesitated before going into the meeting room.
    他猶豫了一下才走進(jìn)會(huì)議室。
    也可以說(shuō)：
    He hesitated between the choice over the two books.
    這兩本書中他不知該選哪一本才好。
    hesitate to do something 是指覺得也許不該做某事，或者有疑慮。
    如：
    I hesitate to ask you, but can you help me with my English?
    也許我不該問(wèn)你，你肯幫我學(xué)習(xí)英語(yǔ)嗎？
    He hesitated to ruin the show.
    他怕把演出搞砸了。
    這種用法我們經(jīng)?？梢钥匆姡乙渤３Ｓ梅穸ㄐ问絹?lái)鼓勵(lì)他人做某事的時(shí)候，
    例如：
    Don't hesitate to phone if you have any problems.
    如有問(wèn)題，請(qǐng)隨時(shí)來(lái)電查詢。
    另外，waver也是指猶豫不決；躊躇的意思。一般 waver （between choices）, 特別是用在做一個(gè)決定或選擇的時(shí)候。
    例如：
    He wavered over buying a house.
    他在買房上猶豫不決。
    當(dāng)然，waver還有其他的意思。這里我們就不詳細(xì)列舉了。
    誠(chéng)然，筆者認(rèn)為有決心，不躊躇地去做一件事情固然可行，也許你會(huì)成功，但切勿鹵莽行事。We should look before we leap. 我們應(yīng)該三思而行。
