英語中能夠表示'兩'的詞語很多，但其含義各不相同，實際用法各有千秋?，F(xiàn)將'兩' 的各個表達形式歸納如下：
（一） Both表示'倆；兩者；雙方'，有強調(diào)意義，要重讀。
Eg. Both sides of the paper were covered with writing. 這張紙兩面都寫滿了字。
（二） two，twice表示數(shù)量、次數(shù) '兩；再次'.
Eg. There is an interval of ten minutes between two classes.兩節(jié)課間隔十分鐘。
（三） couple， a couple of表示'一對；一雙；三兩個'.
Eg. The young couple get along quite happily.小兩口過得挺和美。
（四） double表示'雙倍的；雙重的；兩用的'.
Eg. We can't pay double of this amount.我們不能付雙倍的數(shù)目。
（五） few，a few 表示'幾個；兩三個；不多'.
Eg. I'd like to say a few words about it.對這事我想說兩句。
（六） either表示'兩者之中任何一個'，用于否定句、疑問句和肯定句。
Eg. I believe either method will work.我看兩種方法中的那一種都行。
（七） neither表示'兩者都不'.
Eg. In neither case can I agree. 兩種情形我都不能同意。
（八） bi-=twice，two； 表示'二；兩；雙；重'.
