※Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications(CQUPT) is an academic-research university with excellence in the area of information technology
※ The university is situated at Nanshan tourist resort of Chongqing. It covers an area of 253 hectares. Currently it has 1,500 faculty and staff members and more than 18,000 students.
※ The university has been equipped with modern teaching and scientific researching facilities. The local campus network has now connected over 8,000 micro-computers. The library has collection of more than 1.6 million books. More information will be found in http://www.cqupt.edu.cn
Job Description and Responsibilities:
※ The program which includes reading, writing, oral communication, pronunciation, grammar plus Canadian and Western Culture courses runs from late August until early July. There is a one week holiday in October (National Holiday])and a four week holiday in February (Spring Festival).
※ The academic load includes 18 hours contact time plus weekly English Corner (one hour) with the students and a weekly staff meeting. Class preparations may be done in teachers’ offices or in teachers’ apartments. Teaching staff have significant support regarding technology (computers, PowerPoint and internet technology, DVD and audio-technology), a prescriptive curriculum that allows for creativity, and collegial cooperation plus good support materials, texts etc. Classes are usually taught in the daytime, Monday to Friday.
Qualifications:
※ have (minimum) an undergraduate degree;
※ be English first language speakers;
※ be keen to work collaboratively with both foreign and Chinese staff;
※ desire to challenge eager young students
※ TESOL/TEFL certificate highly recommended
Others:
※ Live in western-type accommodation, on a rapidly modernizing campus that is itself an oasis from the hustle and bustle of China.
※ Experience a taste of the “real China” with easy access to national and international locations in Asia.
※ Return flight costs are covered by CFCIE. Teachers are provided with furnished western-type accommodation on campus. Teachers often choose to cook their own meals or eat in a number of cafeterias on campus or travel off campus to eat at many local restaurants. There are often special events on and off campus that Chinese staff make available to foreign staff. Medical coverage is the same as for other university staff.
