* semester 是指一年二學(xué)期制下的“學(xué)期”。
3) There are three terms in a school year.
一學(xué)年有三個(gè)學(xué)期。
* 西方的教育體系和我們的有所不同。term 是指一年三學(xué)期制下的“學(xué)期”。
4) I still have to fill 16 hours in my major.
我必須重修主修科目16小時(shí)。
5) Besides the required courses, I'm taking an elective in the Lab Science.
除必修科目外，選修科目我選了實(shí)驗(yàn)科學(xué)。
* required courses 是“必修科目”，elective 是“選修科目”。
Lab 是 laboratory（實(shí)驗(yàn)室）的縮寫。
6) For my math requirements, I'll be taking algebra, calculus, and trig.
數(shù)學(xué)的必修學(xué)分預(yù)定選代數(shù)、微積分、三角法。
* trig = trigonometry 三角法，trig 是學(xué)生用語。
7) The prerequisite for Chinese Lit is Freshman Lit and Comp.
若要從事中國文學(xué)，必須在一年級修文學(xué)與作文。
* Lit = literature
Comp = composition
freshman 是大學(xué)一年級的學(xué)生。
8) Three times a week I have to walk all the way to the gym for my Phys Ed class.
一周有三次，我為了參加體育課而必須走路到體育館。
* Phys Ed = physical education
all the way 有“遠(yuǎn)途”的意思，有相當(dāng)遙遠(yuǎn)的感覺。
9) I still need three more credits in Psych; maybe I'll take Ed Psych this term.
心理學(xué)我還需要三個(gè)學(xué)分?；蛟S我在本學(xué)期修教育心理學(xué)。
* Psych = psychology
Ed Psych = educational psychology
10) He received full credit for his studies at a previous school.
他在一所先前的學(xué)校取得了所有課程的學(xué)分。
