    REQUESTS AND ANSWERS
    Would/Could you help me?
    Would you mind helping me?
    Sure? I'm afraid I can't.
    O.K. I'm sorry, I can't.
    All right Sorry, I can't.
    Certainly.
    Sure,O.K.
Would you mind not doing that?
    Please don't do that.
    O.K>
    All right.
    Sure.
    Certainly.
    a)Can I come in?
    Could I use your phone?
    May I sit here?
    Sure.
    Of course.
    Certainly.
b)Do you mind if I smoke?
    Of course not.
    在回答(a)和(b)的問(wèn)題時(shí),如果表示不允許,可以說(shuō):I'd rather you didn't.
    Could I... Can I..
    Do you mind if ..
如果你覺(jué)得你要問(wèn)的問(wèn)題不大好問(wèn),或可能使人感到尷尬,就可以先說(shuō) Do you mind if I ask a question?
    I'd rather you didn't 這個(gè)說(shuō)法可能顯得有點(diǎn)怪,不過(guò)你大概記得第4講里說(shuō)過(guò)I'd rather =I'd prefer.
    CONVERSATIONAL DEVICES
    a)Look! 意思相當(dāng)于listen to what I have to say,或 What I mean is...
    PART IV - The Songs
Please Don't Tell Me How The Story Ends,一支是Don't Make Me Laugh.
