DISCUSSING LIKES AND DISLIKES 怎樣談?wù)撓矚g與不喜歡
我們在第四講里學(xué)了下面幾個(gè)說法,表示喜歡和不喜歡什么:
表示喜歡 表示不喜歡
I like ... I don't like ...
I'm keen on... I can't stand...
I love ... I hate ...
在今天這一講里,我們學(xué)習(xí)以下兩個(gè)說法:
表示喜歡 表示不喜歡
I'm fond of ... I can't bear ...
在和別人談起喜歡什么和不喜歡什么的時(shí)候,可以用下面幾個(gè)說法:
1. 表示別人喜歡,你也喜歡
BARBARA: I like music.
JOHN: Me too*
BARBARA: I like folk music.
JOHN: So do I.
*Me too 比 So do I 或 I do too 更為口語化.
2. 表示別人喜歡,而你卻不喜歡
JOHN: I like hot food.
BARBARA: I don't.**
JOHN: I'm keen on rock and roll.
BARBARA: I'm not.**
**用這樣的話來回答，要注意：如果說得突然，會(huì)顯得不禮貌。所以在前面加上點(diǎn)兒什么，比如這樣說：
JOHN: I like hot food.
BARBARA: Oh... I don't.
JOHN: I'm keen On rock and roll.
BARBARA: Are you? I'm not.
3. 表示別人不喜歡．你也不落歡
BARBARA: I don't like spiders.
JOHN: Neither do I.
4. 表示別人不喜歡,而你卻喜歡.
BARBARA: I don't like hot food.
JOHN: Oh... I do.
注意：
●聽廣播時(shí)請?zhí)貏e注意表示同意或不同意
的答話，應(yīng)把重音放在哪里．語調(diào)如何。
●接在肯定句后面的肯定旬，用這一結(jié)構(gòu)：
S0 助動(dòng)詞 主語
I like coffee and SO does he
(=he likes coffee too)
He came and SO did his wife
(=his wife came too)
She's finished and SO have I
(=I've finished too)
● 接在否定句后面的否定句，用這一結(jié)構(gòu):
NEITHER 助動(dòng)詞 主語
She doesn't like coffee and NEIGTHER do I.
They didn't come and NEITHER did he.
I won't go to town and NEITHER will my husband.
● So dol和 Neither I這類簡短的回答，看上去象問句，實(shí)際是陳述句，因此要用降調(diào)。
●Neither一詞可以讀作...也可以讀作...你在廣播里將聽到...
5. 其他表示同意或不同意的說法
你在廣播里會(huì)聽到John和Barbra說:
BARBARA: I don't like hot food. I'm not keen on it.
JOHN: No.You're not keen on hot food,are you?
請注意，對一句否定的話表示同意，不說Yes而說No.
概括起來，對一句肯定的話或否定的話表示同意或不同意，可以這樣表示：
表示同意一句肯定的話
A: It's hot in here!
B: Yes, it is!
表示不同意一句肯定的話
A: My nose is too long.
B: No,it isn't. I like it.
表示不同意一句否定的話
A: I'm not sick.
B: Yes,you are.
A CONVERSATIONAL DEVICE
Actually 有人在會(huì)話中常用actually一詞,意思是"說真的","確切地說"或"實(shí)際上"(請參看第一部分中地第二段對話.)
